Dude when engine first starts do not used the carburetor covers. Let it breathe and check the air and fuel jets and settled the fuel pump. Your project brings back 90s memories. Great video.

Rubber line under the exhaust manifold should be metal pipe, just for the heat like most toyotas. Im loving the build.

Nice job. For the heater valve, it looks like it connects to hoses, so would it be possible to adapt a later model valve that is available? Also, for your battery cables, maybe look into uninsulated ring terminals and quality shrink tube for a quality look. Also, instead of stripping the cable and tightening it under the strap on the terminal end, crimp a ring terminal and bolt the cable onto the battery terminal.

Looks and sounds tremendous man. You could keep the fuel pump simple and just tee into a switched 12volt a good one for fuel pumps is the positive terminal on your coil if you get stuck! Can’t wait to hear the old girl on song!

A bit of tinkering got your hilux ute running on my hilux l have the mechanical fuel pump starts every time l am not modyfying leaving it original it works any part l have replaced has been standard but the motor looks geat better than mine but it works

Nice work there young man! I had a previous problem with a similar year toyota hilux YEARS ago and i Narrowed it down to that stinking resistor ! Is that an early 22r block with a 20 head or is it the 1985-95 block with flat top pistons?

I sure wish you were down here in Costa Rica. Having electrical issues with my 99 4runner fuel system and the mechanic says, "serious problem" Which means he doesn't know what is going on. Sounds like at least $1000 to me (gringo price)....

Break in additive and I pulled the valve cover to make sure the cam is soaked in oil
