I have never watched or played FS before. Just stumbled over this series and I have now binge watched it. Really awesome work! You have a new sub :)) Also some facts from a plant nerd ;) : soybeans are from the family Fabaceae, which have the ability to fixate nitrogen from the air into the soil. Likely why they don't require fertilizer.

Typical precision farming field prep order should be: - Mulch (clears base game mulch requirement - use a mod to speed this up) - Plow (if needed to clear base game plowing requirement will take a slight hit for it) - Destone (if plowed) - Direct seed (establishes crop type for correct lime and fert amounts - precision farming likes direct seeding) - Lime (it adjusts to your crop type) - Fert (adjusts to your crop type) - Roll (clears base game rolling requirement) - If you plowed then you will get no weeds. You are good from here) If you direct seed and not plowed then use either of these steps next: - Use a mechanical weeder if not spraying (you take a hit for using it in precision farming) - Spot spray herbicide after 1 month when weeds are small - don't let them go to medium) Do the same when first planting grass to clear base game requirements and precision farming requirements. However after cutting the grass do not roll with a grass roller. Mulch it instead to re-clear the base game requirements. Then lime then fertilize. You should get max yield from doing this for each soil type.

Also watch your soil nitrogen and pH when switching crops. Some crops like high nitrogen and ph and some lower. If you follow a high nitrogen or ph crop and follow it with a low nitrogen or ph crop you will take yield hit. You can still plant but will take a hit until the nitrogen and/or pH levels come down. Or use an intermediate crop to bring them down first. Going from low to high is easier as you can add by lime and fert. Going from high to low is harder to bring down the levels. I don't know the effect of letting weeds grow or oil seed radishes on those levels.

Another thing. The lime parches are from the sensor not picking up on the layer because it is too small or thin. Although it is annoying, it has no effect on yield. The map will show correctly.

Love the vids. Makes the work day go much quicker! Especially those long compilations. Heated up the game again (that is why I am watching) and doing a playthrough using the Man semi as my only "tractor". Agro truck if you will. It is the cheapest 500 hp vehicle. I am using a modded version with a 3pt attacher and will have to use a few implement mods as well. I can only buy the Man, a forklift, and a harvestor. That is all I get for vehicles. I can have more than one of these but that is it.

Lime doesn't adjust to the crop type, the amount of lime needed is decided by the ground type. So you don't necessarily need to lime after seeding.

Loving the series so far, just started playing this week and this series has opened my eyes to what this game can really be. It is what you make it, and it fits so well for this type of roleplay. Set myself up a new game on New Lands with a lot of the mods you've shown. Installed precision farming, courseplay, GPS, cultivators create fields, and I'm mostly sticking to vintage John Deer mods. Started with about 10k and the 6Wheeler gator, just planted my first crop on the new field. Thanks for your creativity and inspiration! Nothing as rewarding as starting from square one.

If I'm remembering correctly I think most species of beans put nitrogen into the soil themselves which is why occasionally farmers (at least where I'm from) will alternate beans and corn

Loving the long series here! Your videos have made me want to get back into FS22 with my buddies to keep our farm going. Also, you may want to consider looking into using something like a Logitech X3D joystick for the loaders. It may take some tweaking/getting used to it, but should help when loading and unloading wagons/bales, and just regular handling of the loader. A buddy of mine uses a similar model for it, and he said it responds a lot more accurately to an actual joystick in, say, a tractor or a front end loader. Hope this helps some!

Love the videos man. In future playthroughs I think you should buy a camper and at least pretend you’re running it off propane or natural gas or something. The idea that your guy is sleeping rough in a pup tent in the snow and rain kind of kills the immersion. A cheap camper or trailer would fix that. Just a thought

I had just recently done an identical equipment cotton harvest before seeing that part in your video. I have no strength mod so the way it works, is you dump the cotton bale on the ground, then put the trailer into an operating position, which has a conveyor system on it, and back up to the end of the bale. I'll pull it up onto the trailer.

You should get the shop delivery mod and check out the used equipment section in the menu cause the shop delivery you can set it to deliver everything you buy directly to the farm for a small fee

@32:56 pH & Hydrogen are basically the same thing. pH is the power of Hydrogen to disassociate from a chemical bond. How who you measure Hydrogen otherwise? Maybe the game fucked up and should've showed levels for Nitrogen or Phosphorus or Oxygen... point being not sure if you read that right or the game really knows what it talking about.

Only thing I observed is that you kept getting off track u tried to do to many different things at once and kept stretching yourself thin with the ideas and projects.. 1 project at a time complete before moving on u were buying to many things or needing equipment because u kept switching up.. Try to pace yourself when starting from scratch until u have the money for equipment then move on to next project so your not scrambling for money and then u can take on different jobs..
