Not surprising that Dukat is implied to be Picard's greatest foe. Sisko only managed to beat him thanks to literal divine intervention. That Cardassia and Dukat put up such a fight that Picard was nearly killed is also not surprising. The Mirror Universe, though not this timeline, depicted the Cardassians as nearly the same as their prime counterparts. Which means they are seemingly morally ambiguous and clever to the core. As that one Klingon said: "Two years I spent on the Cardassian border. Two years fighting Guls and Legates and Glinns. They were cunning enemies. Always had us chasing holo-projections and sensor ghosts. Everything was a game with them. Always had a plan within a plan within a plan leading into a trap."

Love this scene from the poetic entrance to the acting, Jean Luc originally taken aback by the sight of the skull room then eventually with Q's both respect and disgust in explanations begins to understand the man he could be and begins to hate it, then Q reminds him of what he had done and Picard almost immediately remembers and I think begins to see similarities to himself and this Picard. Also the way he pronounces "decapitated" toward Sarek almost paints a somewhat visceral story of how it happened. Then a Macbeth reference almost adds the nostalgic feeling of their bitter "friendship". John De Lancie and Patrick Stewart play probably my favorite duo of characters in any tv show and film.

It's interesting to compare this scene against Q's trial of humanity in "Encounter At Farpoint". Then, Q alleges that humans remain what the worst of their history reveal them to be. Picard is able, by pleading "guilty" under coercion, to attest that humanity deserves opportunity to prove its atonement and repentance, which Q reminds in "All Good Things" is an open-ended opportunity. Here, Q is plainly extending the chance at redemption by showing Picard that he himself would have been the worst expression of humanity's darkness. When I saw that Cardassian skull in one of the previews, I thought maybe it's Gul Dukat's skull, my second guess would have been Gul Madred. The Cardassian that tortured Picard and tried to make him say there are five lights when there are four lights. Q says it's Gul Dukat's skull. I did not expect to be right. General Martok and Sarek's skull. Oh dear. There is a Ferengi skull. Possibly Daimon Bok. He kept on trying to kill Picard because Picard killed his son in self-defense when he was captain of the Stargazer. The Borg skull. I really hope that is not Hugh's skull. I am still pissed that he died in season one of this show. Not sure about the other skulls, one looks like a Gorn skull and the other looks like Species 8472 (The Undine in Star Trek Online.) Edit 1: It turns out that the skulls that I though were Gorn and Species 8472 are actually a Saurian skull and a species called Lihn Zhee which I assume is a new species that was added to the show. The Confederacy of Earth. I don't like this. And after seeing the next video Romulus still exist and wasn't destroyed by a Supernova but was conquered and Picard in this reality drinks Columbian Roast Black not Earl Gray Tea. And World War 3 did not happen. That sounds good but it isn't. Like other shows and movies that involve Time Travel preventing certain wars seems to make things worse. Wars are unfortunately a necessary evil. Also there is a General Sisko as I found out later. It could be Benjamin Sisko or his son Jake Sisko who is a general in this reality. Edit 2: And in some reports that Seven of Nine sees Chief O'brien is also a general and Tasha Yar is alive in this timeline and also a General. And Tuvok is a Commander of the Vulcan Forces. And that Earth is not just fighting the Vulcans. They are also fighting the Andorians, and the Dominion. So that means that the Confederation of Earth is invading the Gamma Quadrant. I would think the Prophets in the Bajoran Wormhole would prevent the Confederacy from doing this unless they killed the Prophets using Chroniton radiation. Edit 3: Apparently the Son'a created an empire in the Confederation Timeline and they sold weapons to the Romulans to fight the Confederation after Romulas fell. It is on the sign with the Zhat Vash Disrupter in General Picard's library.

The Ferengi skull has the staff with the tiny ferengi head as the ... head. That was normally carried by the Grand Nagus, and the considering the size of the ears, I would assume it's Zek. True, but that was cotemperal with DS9's depiction. In that timeline, the Terran Empire had been overthrown by the Cardassian/Bajoran(oddly)/Klingon alliance, if I recall. The Humans eventually took over Terok'nor after Sisko gave them plans to build the Defiant, if I remember right. It's been a while. So it's interesting that in THIS version of the mirror universe (if that's what this is), either that didn't happen or this Picard rose to power after that to try and reforge the Terran Empire.

General Sisko is named. Tasha Yar and Miles O’Brien names are shown on computer screens. Tons of weapons seen in Picards room are from past shows and episodes.

@@kagemusha168 I heard the General Siskin reference, but missed Tasha Yar and Miles O’Brien on the computer screen. Are they dead, or part of the ‘Empire?’

@@alexanderjones9572 Their names were seen on computer read outs. I think Tasha is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Andorian Rebellion and O’Brien is a general against the Dominion.

@@kagemusha168 Thanks- that means we could see BOTH of them in season two! O’Brien wouldn’t have changed much, but Tasha would be a good bit older than the one Picard remembers- who was killed on Vagra II in season one of TNG.

I met John De Lancie at a convention some years ago. He didn't seem to like Q very much. But here we are.
