Honestly, unless a startup’s offering a really high package after 3-4 years of experience, it’s usually not worth it in India. Big MNCs can give similar pay, better work-life balance, and their stock options are more liquid. Plus, in some startups, you might have to deal with arrogant and incompetent tech leads, which is rare in big companies since they have solid background checks and behavioral rounds. So, choose wisely once you’ve got some experience-before you know it, you'll be married and will require more family time. Plus, there's a big opportunity cost to consider. Once you’ve got some experience, you could create a personal brand, make KZbin videos, work on an idea, or learn a new tech stack with the extra free time and mental space. Many major MNCs(B2B and B2C included) have also seen their stock prices go 2x-4x in the last five years, which is another missed chance. When switching from a startup to a big MNC, they usually won’t give much weight to your startup title-they’ll focus on your interview and years of experience.

One pointer to add, pls free to counter in an startup u mostly gets features to develop from scratch or else u might need to scale a feature whereas in an MNC most of the projects are related to migration from gen 1 to gen 2 tech or say migration from physical servers to cloud

Um depends. I had a pretty good experience, both on Amazon and Google, both in terms of learning. But yes, the exposure on open source tech is a bit limited.

Yes, ins MNC's it's more about making the code robust according to the rising conditions, but they are also into bringing new products, it depends on the team we are part of.

As someone with startup experience, here’s my take ESOPs: Startup ESOPs aren't liquid initially, but they can grow significantly and may yield returns if the company goes public. However, they are a long-term, high-risk investment. Work Culture: The startup mentioned is now well-organized, offering a work environment similar to larger companies. Why consider joining a startup? 1. If you're comfortable wearing multiple hats (Backend, Frontend, DevOps, etc.). 2. If the startup’s mission aligns with your interests, and you believe in the founders' vision.
