Starving cancer cells without starving YOU | TARGET: Cancer Podcast | Ep. 30
Our guest this week is Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, a physician, researcher, and Pulitzer Prize winner. Dr. Mukherjee and Dr. Juneja talk about a new approach to fighting cancer, by analyzing the internal metabolism of the cancer cell so that we can prevent cancer growth by starving it. Dr. Mukherjee shares his learnings on how specific diets - targeting amino acids and other nutrients - in combination with other therapies, can help patients control their cancer.

This is why we don't have a good remedy for cancer after all these years, they put all these ignorant people in charge of our healthcare system. What the first need to understand is cancer is your mind telling your body to cancel itself. This is why people who process evil thoughts dies early.

The reason most do not talk about the way to eat that prevents disease - is because it’s not a shortcut to keep eating the addictive food. The SAD. The last thing I ever wanted to do was stop eating sugar, and giving up processed bread and excess carbs was awful - but it worked to get my health back . AND fast forward 8 months - I look great , I have my body back from my 20s and I feel great. And I can’t imagine going back to fast food and junk food. Even over 50- I did it.

I have had previous guests explain what chemo and immune therapy are several times. consider being a *podcast* host similar to as if you were to get a lunch hour with someone of your dreams. or in your home. someone absolutely brilliant. do you let 45-60 minutes of it go explaining a google able concept? the challenge for a host is to get something NEW, or different, from that mind. and in this case, it took interjection. but it introduced new analogies he's since apparently since used.

I didn't get much from this. What do you do to starve cancer? I didn't get the answer here. Dr Thomas Seyfried has an elegant, simple explanation: cancer cells are addicted to glucose and glutamine. That's the key. Cancer cells have defective mitochondria which are devoid of cristae: they can't perform ox-phos. They rely on fermentation to produce energy and use glucose and glutamine exclusively.

Thank you for putting this so succinctly. I've been wondering if cancer is unable to grow in a person who is on hard-core keto, and, if so, would that diet bullet-proof the person from cancer? What do you think about that?

@@tomdehenLook up Fred Evrard’s book, How my immune system beat cancer (or something like that). He did a water fast for 21 days and reduced his tumor by half. Then he went on a red meat only diet w limited eating window, weekend fasting etc, and three months later his colon tumor was gone. For colon cancer at least, which is more often found in the large intestine, meat is the way as it is processed mostly in the small intestine and liquid by the time it reaches the large intestine. Much easier than veggies to process.

I remember an interview with Dr Mukherjee where he didn’t believe we will find a true cancer cure in our lifetimes because we’ve only identified perhaps 3% of the pathways and therefore we hardly know the body. Mukherjee proposes the old SMT, somatic mutation theory, of cancer. Seyfried and Fung have well explained how this model is old, doesn't explain many things, and doesn't lead to any meaningful victory toward cancer. There is a lot of "anedoctal evidence" that Seyfried and Fung are right. I would like to listen, from Mukherjee, about how many cases of Type IV cancers with metastasis he cured up to remission, how many "walking dead" patients he has, that were given a life expectancy of a few months and are alive 5 o 10 years later. The proof is in the pudding.

I think the mitochondria transfer experiments that are referred to in Dr. Seyfried's book indicate that dysfunctional mitochondria play a role in the development and growth of cancer. This is probably why people are having success with Cannabis as it's causing the mitochondria in cancer cells to become dysfunctional resulting in apoptosis.

@MarianPosey

Targeting cancer, to be disintegrated in normal body processes; this is so close to understanding chemical reactions, as are taught in a chemistry class. Chemistry happens at the molecular or atom level. And the human body is nearly at such a basic level in how it functions. So the cure for cancers must occur in processes that are too small to see, or even too subtle to be perceived by the human senses.

I'm a bit confused now. One expert says that "at the end of the day, cancer is a genetic disrase" while another expert, Dr. Seyfreid said on this channel that cancer is a metabolic disease. Other authorities like Dr. Lustig strongly emphasize that cancer is Epigenetic disease. I guess we are all speculating with very little certainty what cancer actually is, but, Dr. Seyfreid's point of view is more logical and makes a lot of sense among others. The key to treating cancers lies in the knowledge about them. Unfortunately, we seem to be far from it.

Step 1: Why do cancerous cells use inefficient glycolysis to produce energy, ignoring the TCA cycle? Step 2: Why under pressure same cells do switch to the TCA cycle and catabolism of alternate more complex fuels (anaplerosis)? So the regular pathways are the normal ones or they also were modified and to what extent? Intensive use of energy requires oxygen because of the yield of ATP? Why go back to the high volume of oxygen? It seems like a more detailed withe board lecture is required to understand in deep all these mechanisms. Are you both producing one? Fascinating.

Toxic therapy promotes secondary cancers of the daughter cells to come out later in the life of the patient which the Cancer Industry is never talking about. Also, the cure rate in a 5-year window of time is a miserable 2.5 success rate that the patient is living so really using the big 3 of slash burn and poison is in fact a 98 percent death sentence to the newly diagnosed patients big money for the industry really. This fact is never acknowledged to the cancer patient by their oncologist that really knows what is going on but is gagged by their big boss called the CDC the FDA the Government and the AMA to shut up and stay quiet and to deliver the cancer-causing agents anyway including the dangerous biopsies as well. I am the messenger of years of independent research on the subject only. Holistic Chef Barry Anderson is just saying thank you. BEE WELL and STAY WELL.

Thanks,,sounds that we almost need a strategy board to see what therapies for what cancer type ,to save time and then look for its so difficult as what to try and find the results of what treatment ,,so you can help youreself it's difficult like a minefield ,,of old info and not much about newer treatments on an unbiased leaflet to see side by side results,,,,without money being involved and pharma selling product,,,so it's just a base to work from

This is really good information and insights that are being shared. But in saying, how does he explain all of the people who are doing things like putting their bodies into ketosis and overcoming cancer that way? Surely it's not a coincidence....?

I thank Dr Siddhartha for breaking down this complicated topic for the audience. However, what made it difficult for me to keep up was the interviewer interrupting the doctors explanations. Not to mention that the interviewer talks so fast I got nothing out of what he was saying.

Could something like CRISPR Cas 9 be used to cut out the ability of cancer cells to use fuel to metabolize and mutate or correct cell and gene mutations? Since certain cancers, like Pancreatic cancer, are almost a death sentence anyway, why would this not be researched further to battle such a dangerous cancer?

When talking cancer you are addressing older people. In the last 50 years our language has speeded up. You talk too fast for many older people. Compare your speech to that of an older news caster and you will see what I mean We can't focs on what you are saying when you machine gun the words at us. Listen to your guest's pace of speech and copy him, SLOW IT DOWN.

It pains me to point out that you are wrong in most of what you had to say. In recent times late 2019 in fact aykut produced a research paper easily accessible by googling pancreatic cancer and malassezia then on the back of aykuts work came a large israeli study access that by googling cancer and malassezia. I wont expand on this here as i wrote a rather long comment on your episode sugar and alkaline water theory in cancer. After reading my comment and reading the two papers alluded to, can you make a good refutation? I would love you to discuss it on your show.

“So your saying” Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee is 1) Cancer is not a genetic disease. 2) The mitochondria mutates to provide energy to the cell abnormally. 3) Abnormal mitochondria function the root problem. Ok so there are 2 main issues. 1) How to prevent mitochondria from using alternate methods of producing energy. 2) How to get mitochondria back to normal or destroy mutated mitochondria.

podcast hosts have to be mindful of not breaking the thought process of the guests. Would appreciate if you let the guests speak without interruption, especially when you have guests who are great storytellers who are building the content steo by step. Hope you take this feedback constructively. Also a 2:1 podcast with Dr Siddharth Mukergee and Dr. Thomas Seyford would make up for an interesting conversation in the future.

@@cheryle3117I have cancer and I did no sugars with carnivore diet and intermittent fasting...it did not help...3 spots grew by a few millimeters in 3 months. I found Chris Beat Cancer here on KZbin and his cancer healing diet makes the most sense to me. He has a book by the same title...I would start with that before deciding on any therapies. He didn't want to do chemo and neither do I so I keep searching and know that is the diet I need to heal with. Good luck and I pray everything goes well for you.
