@@chelseashaw4337 You happen to be in every comment discrediting the work of the prosecution and defending what this cop did. Just remember this: It's always easier to talk about any other issue, so long as it's not affecting you directly. This was never a race case, or a police hatred case. The whole world watched George Floyd being knelt on for a very long time. You can never change what people saw. This case for me was the triumph of forensic evidence; the video evidence and recordings: Many cases today, including the death penalities, would be overturned in history, if only there was video evidence of whatever happened. Without these video evidences, its just a matter of which lawyers outsmart whom, and most evidences in this perspective, are left to just speculations. The prosecution in this case, were barred from using another incident about this same cop Chauvin, in which he responded to a domestic call whereby a mother called the police, on her teenage son. Despite repeated pleas from the mother, to stop or get off him. he beat the unresisting boy repeatedly with a torch, and knelt on his back for 17 minutes, until the paramedics arrived! One last thing; many people of colour have been subjected to extreme torments and folter by the authorities, and unfortunately because of their texture of their skins, these injuries never showed or continued to show amidst the counteracting with the police. In other words, it's easier for a white person or light skinned person to exhibit these injuries way more than a black person. I believe in any profession, there are people who do not entirely belong there. From the doctors who twist medical evidences to convict or exenorate someone, or to individuals who became cops not to serve, but because of a hatred of a people.

I like how the state always kept the race issue out of this trial and they merely stated over and over again that a human being was murdered in the hands of law enforcement and that a human beings civil liberty and rights were violated. Any race issue would have only helped the defense team. The state basically indirectly stated that regardless of race, what Mr chauvin did was wrong from start to finish and not part of police training considering the situation and circumstances which is such a compelling and meaningful testimony.

They thought he had excited delirium, and all of the literature shows is the best thing cops can do for someone suffering from that is restrain them until an ambulance arrives because the more they move around the more quickly he or she will circle the drain and a knee on the back to restrain someone is a technique discussed as safe in the litersture on this. CPR has proven not to work for this condition, so why would Chauvin risk uncuffing Floyd in front of a hostile crowd. yes, but it is not good to idealize George Floyd. He was also a criminal and drug abuser as well. He should not be idealized and turned into a saint. One small detail brought up by the defense stuck with me and that was when he said dispatch noticed that the struggle to get George Floyd into the SUV and the man's resistance was so strong the auto was rocking back and forth. Then the video was shown but there wasn't any rocking of the SUV happening. That kind of summed up for me where the defense was. It was a Hail Mary pass to try to convince the jury that everything they saw wasn't important. The only important thing was the picture the defense was trying to paint. But that picture was not supported by our own eyes and common sense. And one last thing. Where was Chauvin's humanity in all of it? Was he rendered deaf and blind by his racial bias that he couldn't respond like a normal human being to another's suffering? Or is that also a function of police training as the defense seemed to be implying?

They thought Floyd had excited delirium, a condition for which the prognosis is very poor because normal First Aid techniques don't work for it. The literature shows the best thing officers can do while waiting for an ambulance is completely restrain the individual because struggling will make him or her circle the drain faster and one the techniques discussed to best inhibit movement is a knee on the back around the shoulder blades. There was no point in the officers endangering themselves around that hostile mob if the First Aid (including CPR) wasn't going to work and the more intensive care he needed was on the way. Presenting the video without taking the context of the situation into account makes you look dishonest or like simpleton.

I am glad I am not on a jury like this. Somehow it seems that it would be best if the jury could be completely unbiased and objective and fair. The rioters and protesters should also want the judgment to be unbiased and fair and justifiable. But it does seem as though there is a bias in favor of conviction that is hard to overcome. So, it seems likely that any judgment no matter what will not be accepted by everyone. But I hope we do not see more rioting and destruction of businesses, restaurants, stores, public and private property. Buildings are not to blame, and many innocent people suffer from mob violence. Violence does not make the world safer or more just or more compassionate, it does not solve problems or reconcile opposing parties. The Jan 6 demonstration has been beaten like a dead horse. A policeman shot and killed a woman who was unarmed. He has not been put on trial or demonized in the press. I just read of a video of a policeman beating a demonstrator on the ground. The left has not investigated or arrested rioters for the 2020 riots. They destroyed millions in private property. In Mpls. they burned down a police station. The left is not attacking the rioters. Harris even helped bail out rioters in Mpls. The riots have simply been politicized for leftist political aims, like blocking conservative candidates and Trump from gaining office in the near future. So, I would say, more attention needs to be paid to the crimes of the radicals. I have noticed in my neighborhood there are fewer and fewer posters on lawns celebrating G. Floyd. Perhaps people have realized that BLM is not simply a civil rights movement. The mansion they bought with money from supporters, for example, or the comments on Marxist motives.
