So someone pointed out that at 2:21 I say "this is absolutely fantastic", right after talking about the invasion of Ukraine. Just to be clear: I think it's fantastic that History Scope has this many subscribers, not that invading other countries is fantastic.

I feel like when I started watching you said your wife encouraged you to make this channel and happy to see how much the channel has grown even if I'm mis remembering. I'm very encouraged to here you limit depressing content, hank green talking about the Sad zone that leads to doomer mentality and I think actively deciding to make happier content is a stroke of genius

This was an amazing update video, thank you to you and your team for all the amazing content you create and facilitate! I look forward to seeing the channel hit the 1 million mark; to me, your channel is already cemented into the echelons of the history KZbin Greats! As a fellow neurodiverse history buff, I greatly enjoy your history content (especially the comprehensive histories of African decolonization). However, I became a regular and dedicated fan after your history of autism video helped me in my own journey of really shift from a state of near permanent masking towards reclaiming my intrinsic value systems and living a more authentic life as a proud and open member of the autistic and neurodiverse communities. I am unsure the exact avenue via which to contact you regarding your plans to expand your team, but I would be honored to work alongside you all in a research capacity. The following I found myself driven to write in comment and the survey in the description box, but I also considered drafting an email as well. However, I want to leave this comment as it will help to motivate me to follow up with further communication efforts sooner rather than the dreaded "eventually". At present, I am looking to hone and advance my research chops while making my contribution towards the educational KZbin space. While I conduct vast amounts of research via KZbin in the format of co-opting the KZbin algorithm and collating my research/content consumption habit into playlists of video content, parsed for quality assurance at various levels of accessiblity, interdisciplinary, and depth. My summer project involves transitioning this into a more formal note-taking system, but I struggle with the blocks of my neurodiverse traits to make something of this content on my own/outside of an already established environment. At present, my motivational environment is in my work at an online school called Fusion Global Academy (FGA) where I work as a social studies teacher, mentor, and department head. due to the recency of our online school as a branch off of the main slew of Fusion Academy school, labels there is a lot of space for me to develop my skills and pursue my interests alongside students, but a scaling amount of direct person to person interactions that, even from the distance of my home office, leave my neurodiverse brain fried by the end of the day and my body and mind haunted by the spectre of capitali... I mean burnout. Below is a bit more detail about the day to day work I conduct at FGA built up over the past two years: My primary workload consists of scheduled sessions between 25-30 sessions over the course of several weeks to a few months where I work one on one with anywhere between 8-24 students. In my classes, I work with the student and social studies team to collaboratively design curriculum, course work and lessons for each student. Currently, I do this predominantly through video based research and primary resource gathering (which is how I found your channel! :D) and by utilizing my undergraduate background in anthropology, comparative world literature, history, and my graduate background in curriculum and instruction to teach a broad swath of courses both within the social sciences and core history bloc. I also teach several elective courses such as robotics, game design, and a few types of philosophy just to name a few. As I often work with fellow neurodiverse individuals, I act as a mentor as well, discussing and helping each student explore their personal relationships with their minds and developing an intrinsic self-concept of their own unique and personal neurodiversity. Similarly, within my role as department head, I act as a neurodiversity advocate and parent-school liaison advising on individual student needs, goals, and interests based on their unique learning preferences and styles. I also work with teachers in group presentations and individually to help promote education on neurodiversity and support teachers in learning best practices in better understanding and supporting the unique needs of neurodiverse students. I realize during writing and upon reflection that this appreciation comment has steadily reinforced a confidence in asking to communicate further. I wish you and your team all wellness and congratulations and thank you again for all the amazing content and resources for furthering history education!

I’m a fully qualified accountant in Australia+Malaysia! But, I don’t know the tax laws in Netherlands, if not I would do your taxes on a part time basis since I don’t think it’s gonna take up too much time considering this is only a KZbin channel And yes, making mistakes in your tax filling is a serious problem even for a 3rd world country like Malaysia. Hence, for your tax filing, I would not recommend just getting any accountant to do it unless they are from the Netherlands and they are familiar with Netherlands taxation laws. What I would suggest is, get a bookkeeper who keeps track of your expenses consistently, let her record your expenses/income that your business has earned/spent each month, make sure she has all the scanned copies of your receipts+invoices. It’s best the bookkeeper is also a qualified accountant in his/her own country (qualified accountant means they’re certified by the accounting board in their respective countries), there r tonnes of qualified accountants on upwork/freelance work sites. Usually, a qualified accountant needs to have a degree in accounting, and post degree they have studied and passed the examinations of the respective countries accounting standards board (usually this will take between 3-5 years post graduation) . The work of bookkeeping is pretty easy, any qualified accountant world wide would be able to do the job. But, if you hire the wrong person, things could get screwed up as well, I once had a client who owns a few restaurants, who knew nothing about financials/accounts, proceeded to hire a fake accountant to keep records of his businesses financials+to file his taxes for 5 years, but then when the tax office wanted to do an audit it was then discovered that the fake accountant wasn’t doing his job because he was lazy (the restaurants were earning a lot of money, business was good, the amount of transactions that he needed to keep track were quite a lot), and he doesn’t know how to do it properly since he had never worked in any professional accounting firm before he took up that job, his only experience in accounting was being a full time bookeeper (he didn’t have a accounting degree) working in an environment with full supervision of a qualified finance manager, basically that means he was only doing menial data entry jobs and any errors that he had made would be fixed by the finance manager without him knowing how to fix it. After you’ve found your bookeeper, contact a qualified tax accountant in Netherlands, I am sure there r tonnes of qualified tax accountant in Netherlands who would gladly take you in as a client, provided that your books/ledgers have been kept properly for the entire year, and you have all the receipts/invoices ready, that’s why a good bookkeeper is extremely essential. Please make more videos, I’ve watched all of them and there is nothing else to watch!

KZbin has a feature where subscribers you appoint can moderate video comments. In other KZbin communities, it’s a nice tool for fans to support creators. Maybe that could be a moderation solution.

I "watched" this whole video and I watched the autism one last night--i like that you have plans to hire professionals to help--i think that you listed a lawyer, accountant, editor and maybe one or two more. Because of the content that you deal with and the way you describe the effect it has on you, it may be prudent to consider adding one more professional to the list.

It's a Discord server. the content will be on there anyway. the only difference is that they can now press a 'delete' button. It's not actual work, it's just pressing 1 extra button every couple of weeks. idk what kind of content you're thinking of that is abusive and not safe, but we haven't had anything even close to that in the DC server.
@KZ-xt4hl
@KZ-xt4hl 2 жыл бұрын
@@HistoryScope I mean, if they function like users with extra privileges sure, in my experience discord moderators (especially paid ones) are expected to fulfill certain tasks and if they fail there is consequences. So it's less "press an extra button if you see smth bad" and more like "if you don't keep constant watch and do the upkeep of bots and such we will have a problem" If that's not the case for your server then I don't see an issue with it. As for what I meant by "abusive or not safe content" I was referring to the usual trolls that raid most discord servers, people who post NSFW content, bigoted or nazi harassers, child groomers, you know, the usual suspects that raid any big server.
@HistoryScope
@HistoryScope 2 жыл бұрын
@@KZ-xt4hl History Scope moderators don't have to do that much work, just keep and eye out if they see something that goes hard against the rules. Only one person actually does 'work' in the DC server. as for the abusive and not safe content, we have luckily found a way to filter them through a screening process. We've had one person so far who filled the category of "abusive or not safe" and I took care of that personally and they were banned from all History Scope media. They can't even comment on these videos anymore, for example.
