You didn't state what hip adduction could cause or how to fix it, I would assume stretch the adductors and strengthen the abductors, but do you have a more definitive answer?

The video is not giving us any detailed knowledge about all the Tests. Nor u r describing that how should the ankle pronation or supination can be determined by the test and same in all the test. The video was not helpfull....

Yes and no. Certifications give you a base line amount of knowledge about fitness and exercise on top of all of the benefits like calling your self a certified Pt and getting insurance. My point is that I found it very difficult to read books like ACE as they tried to use bigger words then was necessary. For example if a client has valgus knees we should know that one of the problems could be tight muscles on the inside of the thigh and weak over lengthened muscles on the outside of the thigh. However, ACE would say something like the vastus medialis, etc. is tight and medical word blank is over stretched. ACE is really good for certain things depending on the target audience that’s my point, but as fitness professionals we should take it upon ourselves to research more in depth and develop our own specialities.

I still don't understand WHEN you would conduct this assessment. There is nothing in the book, nor any of these videos that directly says "you would need to conduct a static postural assessment under these circumstances.." It seems very basic, but even in the client case studies in the book it doesn't mention anything about WHEN you would conduct SP assessments, only assessing their movements in the five primary movement patterns, despite the fact they're starting in the first levels of training. This confuses me! Any help?

Yes ...actually we need to do postural assessment first even before 5movement screens

@Drewzdev7 ай бұрын
It doesn't have to do with strength at all. It is a general assessment to make sure the client is not off balance, or has poor posture before attempting any excersices for safety purposes so the client doesn't hurt themself attempting something their body isn't ready for.

There was nothing helpful about this video. Why not go into detail about how to actually determine these imbalances and in addition what the causation is?
@acarlson6876 жыл бұрын
check out ibody, I thought their video was helpful and detailed. Also read up on upper and lower cross syndrome, it can guide you. As far as causation... often if you ask clients about their life, their jobs, hobbies, past injuries, etc can help you know whether it's idiopathic or reversible. That's what I use to understand imbalance and dysfunctional movement. And looking for posture patterns in static, plum line assessments, dynamic assessments, weight bearing, patient history (injuries/emotional/ medical), and risk factors... I don't know your field of study so if this isn't helpful or what you are looking for I apologize.
