Stator Replacement | 1990 Honda Fourtrax 300

What do I do if the shifter did come out a lot and now it’s not shifting right and idk how to put it back in the right spot

What went wrong with the stator? It looks so simple.

Stator coils are wound using a thinly coated wire. These wire coils produce electricity when the magnetic flywheel spins very closely to the coils. Sometimes due to heat and age the wire coating breaks down causing the windings to short circuit. (touch each other) when the coils short they lose the ability to create the electricity.
