The beginning was the best part. A lot of the other acting seemed put-on

I could never leave my boyfriend just because of my family. I would rather cut them off than be unhappy just to please them. Nice film btw.

His mother saying she'd rather forget her son was such a stinging line. I raised a young man from 13 on because his family felt that way. Seth is doing great now, but the first couple of years on special days, I knew he was so sad. He just got engaged in January. He will be fine, Mike is a great guy.

@@ayshazaheen3402 you think it's easy for anyone to lose their family? But there comes a point when conditional, toxic love needs to be removed from your life.

love is the one thing that can tear a person apart. but, when the love of your life just walks out without a word. that's also another killer.. wow i hurt to see the tears of a caring person going throu that... wow thanks for sharing michael

In my opinion, his mother only loves him if he follows her "conditions" (conditional love). What a sad way for a mother to love her son. I am so glad that I live in a western culture where parents encourage their children to be independent thinkers and to follow their own dreams and their own heart's desires. My parents love me and my siblings "unconditionally" no matter what. In my culture, parents want their children to be happy. Apparently in other cultures, it is the other way around where parents think only about their own happiness and not about their children's happiness.

This is so heartbreaking sad. I have a friend who found love at the same age as these boys. And then it left him. Never came back. He is 75 now. Still alone. And finally hopeless...

The mom is just a disaster. He should never go back again, maybe send money back to let his mom go to a nursery center.
@Eradon8888 жыл бұрын
Excacly my friend! ;) This is not even a mother... A mother is not someone who just fucked with someone and made a child just because everyone does... A Mother is someone who really does love you and is interested in your hapiness and only that, no matter what... Such a mother is not a real mother, because she does not really love her child and she's only interested in receiving acceptance from other people, only to feed her Ego. Therefore her Ego is more important than the love and hapiness of her own child. That makes the ""mom"" not a mom, but a serpent, a snake, a worm that needs to be squished...

This is where I have a conflict. In the film, she went as far as "I no longer have a son." To me, that undoes a lifelong effort to understand my mother as a parent, a women, and a human that created me. But then to forget that ever happen because I'm gay? Oh hell no. I'd never acknowledge her again.

Script is a little too soapy but it's well made : ) Korean actor is very natural. His economical acting is perfect for the camera..

It sorts itself out in the sequel. They live happily ever after, adopt some kids who love them as much as they love each other. It was so sad about his mother the way she died suddenly when she stepped out in traffic. I mean the damage to my hand built vintage sports car is going to be so expensive to fix. Oh well, what we do for friends.

It probably only counts the so-called honor of the family and not the happiness of the individual family members. We are so lucky to live in a Western culture and decide for ourselves what we want to do...

Both knew where this was going.... I can't condemn the boyfriend for going back. He stayed as log as he could ... much longer than either of them started out expecting, Somethings have a "sell by date". I can understand that Jake did try as hard as he could. His options had all expired. A Korean mother, leaves her birth family and is absorbed into her new family. The only thing she has to all her own is her Son, that only if she is fortunate enough to have one..

Bull to mothers of any culture or tradition who put themselves before their children’s happiness. Giving birth does not bestow ownership rights to another. What is on display here is the ultimate in selfishness and the cowardice of “what others “ will think
@TheToddtw4 жыл бұрын
Obviously a cultural thing. I guess that's how it is in most of Asia. My mother would never had made me feel guilty for being who I am and she definitely would have never made me chose between the person i love and her. And I came out in the 70's

One of the saddest gay short films I've ever watched. This film either hits me hard or pisses me off, especially with the Korean character guy. To me, he’s like a dumb weak coward who doesn’t know how to stand up for himself.
