I think your Grandpa is looking down and smiling at you while you make his favorite tractor more better one peice at a time.

You are a much better man than I am. I'm 65 and I can't imagine being out in the cold like that today. When I was younger, 30 years ago, I could stand it better. Thanks for the video. I'll see you later.

The new seat looks more like the one on our 1020 minus the seat cushion. In its place was a wooly sheep pelt. That would out last the cushions since the tractor was in use two to three hour a day in all weather.

Hey Ross, when you were struggling to get your wrench on the bolts I was shouting at the TV, "try a metric wrench." John Deere build tractors in Germany and I wondered if the old seat you just took off was German. I love seeing you feed the cattle because I never had to do that. I grew mostly vegetables, cereals and some potatoes on my farm, I've never kept livestock so that's something different. Keep braving the cold weather for us, we like to be entertained. Peter 🚜🇬🇧

The same seat was on a 1020, 1520, and 2040 that I spent a good amount of time on, there were no side brackets on any of them at least when I got on them anyway. The seat cushions you took off were for a deluxe seat like were on my grandpa's 2010 and his brother's 4020 and they had side brackets, also a third cushion that was higher up.

Good job on the JD tractor seat. I bought the exact same seat a few years ago when I bought the JD 4400 combine. It works real well.

The old cushions look like the Moline 20 series cushions (2520, 3020, 4020, etc…) I replaced the ones on my 1020, but ended up getting a complete aftermarket seat when I put remotes on it because the seat bottomed out on the remote. There was brackets for those cushions, I had to find a set for my 1020, I think new ones are NLA from Deere.

Those bolts require a patience that I no longer possess, a lot of beer that I may not be able to drink enough of, and warm weather for frozen fingers that is not going to be around for a bit. 😊😊

I have had precious little success with penetrating oil, and I've tried 'em all! The hot wrench has been much better for me! Not always practical though.

@shawnmarvin63482 күн бұрын
Was there no way to use heat to help get those bolts out?
@kimculver10382 күн бұрын
The will fits are. Just not the same. The key l think is to have enough seat to come out under your thighs to give you a good set. I had to shorten the brackets for the back pad to have enough room to stay in the seat

I don't think you can win with some ppl on the penetrating oil😂😂 one day you used to much and the next day you didn't use enough 🤦🏻♂️ 😂 at the end of the day it's more better, the complainers had something to complain about and i was entertained because my iq has never reached my credit score 😂
