🐶There is no strict training in the accommodation experience at Taiyoji Temple. 🐶Surrounded by nature, you can relax and face yourself. 🐶The room door is made of paper and cannot be locked. 🐶The Buddhist vegetarian food prepared by the chief priest is very delicious. 🐶We heard that 20% of the guests were from overseas before the pandemic. 🐶The chief priest Asami is the chief priest, owner, chef, cleaner, and driver of Taiyoji Temple. He does it all by himself. Thanks to the comments requesting Temple Stay, we had a wonderful experience. I watched this video a long time ago, and it convinced me to go stay at Taiyoji. I stayed in April 2023 and it was the highlight of my trip to Japan. It was Golden Week so there were many local Japanese there who were very kind to help translate the teachings to English for me(I am from the USA and don’t speak Japanese). Thank you for posting this video.

Your new temple stay video is a fantastic addition to your travel series! Taiyoji Temple looks wonderful: remote, a place of simplicity where cell phone service drops away (a good thing), writing exercises help you be present and open to the Heart Sutra, and Zazen meditation deepens inner awareness---all capped by beautiful, natural surroundings, and Buddhist vegetarian fare (an opportunity for exercises in gratitude) to nourish body and spirit. Domo arigato. 🙏

The Sutra that you copied is my favorite one, and favorite of many buddhists! Its the Maka Hannya Haramita Shingyo, the Great Complete Wisdom Heart Sutra, of simply, the Heart Sutra. Its content is the Shunyata of all phenomena, mind and thought. Shunyata means emptiness and vacuity. So all things are empty. They have no specific nature of their own, just the nature that they are in.

Thanks for your sharing of this healing and therapeutic experience. As a buddhist in China, I find some of the scenes extremely attractive and familiar to me, e.g. the scriptures you copied in Kanji, the Zen-style meditation you had with your legs crossed. And the price is reasonable, with all the wonderful services and experience you can harvest there. Pitifully, it seems that the chief priest cannot speak English or Mandarine, otherwise I am more than willing to visit there!

So beautiful and peaceful. Takes me back to when I used to go to what was then called Throssel Hole Priory in Northern England. This is a Soto Zen centre founded by the late Zen Master, Jiyu Kennett Roshi. I took Jukai, or the 5 Precepts, from her back in the early 70s. It was when/where I officially became a Buddhist. And I haven't looked back since. 🙏🙏🙏!

99% of guests would probibly steal things or vandalize the temple, church or mosk. It would be too great a risk. The West is largely godless and with zero morals. Its called Liberalism. Avoid at all costs!!
@kidcat78642 жыл бұрын
@@kath5201 I don`t know in which part of the world you live but you can`t speak for all western countries. 99% ??? Here in Germany maybe 2% or even less and I think in Italy,Portugal,Spain,Austria,Norway,Denmark .................. it would be similar. Maybe a lot of people aren`t religious ( I don`t belong to any religion) but that doesn`t make anyone a vandal. I respect other people and their religion as long as they don`t do any harm to anyone.Why should one vandalize or steal things from a sacred place only because of what you call beeing godless.It`s about moral and respect and not about being religious. Avoid Liberalism? What do you mean by that? Do you know what you are talking about and the definition of Liberalism? What do you want? Dictatorship? Maybe you are just following any propaganda. You should learn more about other people,other countries and different forms of government and how they work. By the way - I´m glad to live in a Democracy and that I´m free to believe whatever I want to believe. You can be a good person without belonging to any religion and you can be a very bad person,hiding behind your religion.

@@kidcat7864 perhaps I erred. I know in usa especially in southern California, Seattle, Portland, new york where I have been, thieves are everywhere. Trust me. They will steal you blind. Mostly young, colored or collage age liberals. Theft is a praisable skill. Do not trust them.
