Yes, Edwin,getting on a wide open Seabass bite is one of the best experiences one can have as an angler. I'm glad you got to experience it. We tried Sunday out of Oxnard but stuck out.

Awesome video. Great catches. If I can give unwanted advice but necessary advice. Please keep your hands/fingers away from those gills. I understand you may know how to handle them by grabbing the gill plate, but this still can cause damage. Others who are watching your video to get education may not know the proper gill plate grab and if they grab gills of fish, it’s a death sentence. Sorry man to be that guy. Just sucks seeing people grab fish by the gills not knowing the harm it causes. Keep our fisheries healthy and populated by taking care of the fish.
@Hook2Cook4 күн бұрын
All good. You’re coming from a good place. One might argue, when done right, avoiding the gills, this method gives you the most control which can help not to drop the fish on its head and cause more trauma that way. When dealing with thicker fish, getting a grip is tricky and if they thrash and you lose grip they can slam onto the deck making it worse.
@surffishing13694 күн бұрын
100000% correct!! Gill plate gives full control. And with a fish ur keeping doesn’t matter. With a fish ur releasing, best bet is a pair of fish lip grippers. This is for the newbies that look up to your amazing educational videos. That’s all. Bent rods, tight lines!!!
@Hook2Cook4 күн бұрын
@@surffishing1369good point. Next time the lip grippers will be more accessible 🤞🏼
