The app helps you find relevant jobs and side hustles. The bank link is to track earnings from multiple gigs in one place and to recommend other potentially helpful tools. Linking your account info may not be required, but Steady definitely pushes it.

Use an Online bank account separate for your primary, like sofi then transfer to primary banking institution. Worth it for an extra 5G's a year (and if you do crypto). Kinda like a business account, you don't mix that account with your personal account (at least you should have it separate).
