Chuck roast is my favorite! At $4.99/pound, I buy a huge one at Costco for about $40. I cook it in the Instant Pot, then chill it over night. After cold, I slice it up into chunks. I will eat it for the next two weeks with eggs. I can get 10+ meals out of it, so only $4/meal!

Chuck roast is my favorite too but I cut it into bite sized chunks and air fry it. It satisfies the state cravings for me but so much cheaper; I serve it with fried eggs and dip the bites in the runny yolk. My local farm to table co-op always has chuck roast available $5.99 a pound so it's basically my entire meal plan because I love it so much.

@derenard I feel like the country style pork rib cut doesn't get enough credit. It's an especially fatty cut, but if cooked well, it's extremely flavorful and it's not too hard to cut around the excess fat.

When chuck roast goes on sale at your butcher or grocery store, ask to buy the entire chuck roll. Out of a 20lb chuck roll, you can get about 6 chuck eyes, 3-4 Denver steaks, 5 -7 lbs ground chuck and 2-4 roasts depending on how thick you cut em. Save the labor cut it yourself. Tri-Tip! I get it on sale at Safeway in Hawaii every month for $5 lb. Cooked whole on the grill ( indirect heat) for sixty minutes for rare or slice across the grain for steaks that grill quickly. Ask them for " untrimmed " if the ones they've put out look too lean. Costco sells a forty lb. Box of chicken thighs for $30.99! They are small and fairy mangled, but that's really cheap. Salt the skin and cook on the grill over low heat skin side down for fifteen minutes, flip and cook for another fifteen minutes until the skin is crispy.

I've heard a lot lately about this carnivore diet thing so I thought I would give it a try. I thought it would be expensive but it really has been less then I thought. I spend about half the $$$ I would have spent including veggies. I eat till I am full then stop. I eat once or twice a day with no snacking. I drink water and coffee - black. I am 57 5'8" and started at 230lbs. Now two weeks in I am down to about 210lbs. I was not even trying to loss weight. It was more about just getting to a point of feeling better. Now I figure I will set a goal of 180lbs. I think the biggest change was cutting out carbs altogether. I have not observed any issues and do not really miss the carbs other than the fact that I still like them. I do not feel I have to have them though. I also do not do dairy, process sugar or any wheat products. I do not eat any processes of packaged man made "food products".

Where I live, brisket can be purchased for $3.99/lb at Sam's and Costco. I cut it into chunks of about 2 pounds each. I learned this method from Pioneer Woman, so look for it in her site. I salt it well and bake it at 250* in a covered heavy pot, fat side up for about 4 hours, until tender. Remove the lid and bake at 350* until the fat is golden. You can slice it and eat it right away OR chill it and slice it as thin as you like, salt and fry it in a pan or air fryer.... Beef bacon baby!! Delicious hot or cold for on the go. PS Strain and reserve the liquid fat, gorgeous tallow.

Yes, brisket has really dropped in price and I have bought a few over the years,, when they were low priced. If cooked slow,(crockpot or oven), it makes an incredible roast, that simply falls apart. Leftovers can become beef and noodles, stringy BBQ beef or beef vegetable soup. It is a versatile cut of beef.

Hi Bella, I'm finally beginning my carnivore journey and your channel is amazing, very helpful. I feel blessed I've found you. My body needs to detox from fruit and vegetables. I've never been a vegan, but I would mostly consume tons of fruit, enormous salads and then I'd have some meat and eggs, mostly olive oil and never butter. I would rarely cheat on flour baked goods and chocolate. But the fruit and vegetables might be the reason I never feel satiated full and I keep craving sweet foods. I absolutely need to get rid of my cravings for carbs and stop obsession on fruit. It's going to be very hard in the beginning and hopefully I'll be able to cope with the fruit withdrawals during the first 2-4 weeks, hopefully not more than a month 🍀 Starting is the tough part. Thank you for your dedication to your followers and warm greetings from Melissa from Italy 🍀💖☀️

I haven't lost weight this month, in fact, I was so happy to see 170.6, but then stepped on the scale after my perird to see 175. However... my waist measurements have gone down, I look so good in a thong, and improvement in the gym is noticeable. I really want that scale to move, but I try so hard every day to fight against old programming and not stress. I added in raw milk (just one glass on the rocks with my first meal), much more butter to my eggs, and a piece of raw cheese with my beef. It was hard to make myself eat last week because I didn't have an appetite, WHICH IS CRAZY. My boobs have been a little sore, and it was difficult to run yesterday because of all the bounce. I pray that all the good fats get distrubuted to my boobs and booty. The bad ones get burned for energy and dont come back. especially since I stopped coffee. I do something similar--sous vide at 140 for 24 hours, and then slice and sear in cast iron in butter. YUM! However, all that cooking in plastic, especially since it's so much of what I eat, can't be good. I'm going to start doing crockpot and instant pot sometimes too.

I made a DIY sous vide using a 7-quart analog crockpot and a $30 thermostatic controller that came with an attached temperature probe. The controller turns the crockpot (on LOW setting) on and off according to the upper and lower temps you set. There's an article about crockpot sous vide which can be found fairly easily online with tips and hints. The result can be seared in a frypan or on the grill before serving.

Skin on chicken thighs are crazy affordable and pretty fatty if you eat the skins as well (I do). Also a big fan of wings, but the things will get my nod every time. Bonus: throw all chicken bones into a pot, add water, cook your preferred recipe (time/heat) and make your own bone broth.

You are 100% correct, you get good flavor and good cost. Another option you may wish to try is purchasing a whole cow at one time. We did this, it was priced at hanging weight and you have some control over what it is fed, ours was grass fed and finished on grain, I would recommend at least 2 months on grain. Also you have some options on aging, I would recommend a minimum hang time of at least 21 days. The total cost per pound was $5.00 per pound plus a $75.00 slaughter fee. That was vacuum packed meat, the last cow hung at 853lbs and took up 1 large chest freezer and 1 large upright freezer with little room left over. Another advantage is having everything cut to your specs, our butcher gave us a sheet to fill out. This has lasted us, 2 people over a year, it is now getting close to getting a order in for another cow We are in a very rural area and I know of at least 2 ranches that offer this, you may have to travel out of the bigger cities depending on the area of country you are in.

Your dairy tolerance decreases on carnivore. Just like other foods that we really shouldn't be eating (as adults), you notice your body reactions more readily when you clean up your diet. Sure, dairy is carnivore. But treat it as a carnivore-friendly flavoring, not a food.

1yr carnivore and new subscriber here. This is a great video! Chuck roast ($8.50/lb) is my favorite. I travel for work and cook all of my meals in a Nija Foodi Grill (air fryer.) I wrap the roast in foil to bake it. Then slice it cold and reheat with lots of fat to make it flavorful and crispy brown. I have also started buying tallow to add to cheaper, less fatty cuts to bring the fat content up to a level that’s best for me. Love the channel. Thx.

Thanks for all the information! I am in the Philadelphia, Pa. suburbs, home of the delicious Philly Cheesesteak. But, most of the good delis, carry the rolls, and cheese to make them at home. But, the best thing is they also carry, the thinly sliced rib-eye which is the main ingredient. The secret is, they slice it on their slicing machines, when it is partially frozen and close to paper thin.. Some places have it already sliced in their freezer section in 1 lb. portions. So, you can use this meat in any way you want and is very tender and yummy. On a side note, my daughter is a transplant to the Seattle area, since 2008. She and her husband just purchased a home in Port Orchard, and she takes a ferry to work every day in Seattle.

If you want to get different (but really good) cuts of meat at low prices, go to the Mexican supermarkets like El Super or Vallarta (or whatever is in your area). You can get things like neckbones, lengua, pig hooves, pork snouts etc etc. Some of these "cheaper" cuts are a lot more tough, but that's why we have crockpots. Black pudding is another affordable option too (it's relatively hard to find in the US, but it's very cheap when you do). It has its own taste and texture that some people love and some can't stand.

Hey Bella! Subscriber here. As a 2yr carnivore, I found buying ribeye and nystrip roasts more affordable if you can cut your own steaks. You're paying more $$ for someone else to do the labor. I have a large wooden cutting board and a large serrated knife to do the job. It is VERY EASY to cut through a roast. My local US foods here in Oklahoma, currently has ribeye roast @ $7.99/lb. typically, the roasts are 15-17lbs each and NYstrip roasts run @ $6.99/lb and weigh around 12 lbs per roast. If you can handle the upfront cost to buy the roast and cut it, makes the steaks super cheap! Last rib eye roast I bought cost $130. up front BUT yielded 17- 1" thick steaks that have ALL the fat still on them. (meat dept. doesn't trim the roasts). I bet steak and butter guy would enjoy the roast carving and handling the big knife. 😂 Love your content! Keep up the great work. 😄

I have had Chuck eye steak, and I’ve seen this recommendation before on several channels. It’s a good recommendation, however, I have found that Chuck steaks are very difficult to find. I have checked with grocery store, butcher shops, and found that many of them no longer, do full butcher service, and don’t have Chuck ice stakes available, except on a very rare occasion. The full-blown butcher shops available in my area. Also, do not have ice steaks. Nor are they $10 a pound or less. They are, however, quite delicious, and, when prepared properly, are every bit as good as ribeye.
