Stealth Camping in the RAIN | Solo Overnight Under a Water Tower

On this weeks episode of Small Plots, I get a little loosey juicy in a torrential downpour while stealth camping under a water tower. I get wet, my tarp breaks, it's a whole thing.

This was a such a great video. Like our old friend Drizzy says, it went from 0 to 100 real quick. That storm was nuts for a bit! Nothing like falling asleep to the soothing sound of rain hitting the tarp.

This was so good. Mediocre forest temperature McDonald’s, and channeling of Jim Cantore during a thunderstorm. Definitely one of your best. I wish I had public land as close. I live in a very wooded area but it’s all private land. Very enjoyable video Kevin. Thanks.

Thanks, joe! Yeah there's a lot of land around that's owned by the city/ state / town, whatever. If I can help it, I stay on those places. I think once I made a video on land that was owned by an adjacent college, but usually its public. Camping still frowned upon, but at least big jerry with a rifle won't come knocking at my door!

I found the woods you are in on G maps that looks like a very nice size woods and love that your on bike. That is how I get around Denver for everything or the bus or train if need be. I would camp here but many homeless in city. Maybe in the foothills I can? Your videos are so great!

Back in the 60's when I lived in a small town we had a park where the water tower was. Some people came through and pitched a tent under the water tower. The next morning everything they had was soaked and they thought it had poured rain all night. What happened was sometimes the water tower would run over.

True story. I drifted off to sleep while watching this video and woke up vividly remembering my dream. I walked into a courtroom. Amber Heard gave me side eye and shortly after, Johnny Dep didn't show up for his deposition so the judge argued the legalities of stealth camping with the audience. Definitely make a shelter with that fallen tree. That would be cool. I don't see a lot of good leaves to keep the rain out, though, but you could always bring a tarp to put over it in case you can't find good leaves and stuff.
