On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Wondering if the mig 25 having the weaker airframe of the mig 31 is speed limited at lower altitude in DCS like the real jet. They both both seem to have the same 2.8 Mach limit as the engines burn up if pushed higher than that. Can they get that fast in DCS?

My interpretation is this: RWR is sounding at the time, therefore it was pinging the aircraft before impact. It’s aiming for center of mass, and the closer it gets, the less it’s trying to lead that center of mass. But GS turning into it at the last possible moment tilts that center of mass parallel with the missile while it’s pretty much already alongside; essentially, from the missile’s POV, the centre of mass it should be aiming for suddenly becomes the nosecone it effectively already missed. Therefore, it misses by a hair’s breadth, since it obviously can’t turn 90 degrees in midair. Had he made that turn a split-second earlier or later, I’m sure he would’ve been reduced to atoms. TL;DR: Imo the miss is not because the missile can’t see him (it evidently is seeing him), the reason for the miss was a last-ditch acrobatic manoeuvre that just about worked.

@@LW0001 So if I'm understanding you correctly, basically GS didn't actually dodge the missile by moving the whole aircraft out of the way, he essentially just moved the center of mass around the missile like an agent in The Matrix? That's WILD.

@@JesusFriedChrist Most of the reports suggesting that the development has been halted due to budget and shortage of Solid state Electronics required to make the missile smaller. The main reason is the seeker Agat 9B-1388. You have to understand, unlike medium range missiles with 100-120 km range like 120C which has a range of 20-25 km for its own radar, for a 300km-400km missile, you need more range from the missile seeker (Otherwise the Aircraft needs to guide it for a very long time making it susseptable to enmey missiles). Because of that, Agat 9B-1388.has a range of over 50 km against Fighter sized targets but due to Russia's lack of expertices in Electronics, it also has a very big size and weights nearly 50 kg. Due to Western sanctions on Electronics Import and finiancial crisis, the planned sekker upgrade with smaller size and less weight, has not been materialized yet.

Over a 1000 km of Airspace, not miles, by placing 4 Mig-31s 200 km apart from each other. Their integrated Data-Link continiously share information from each aircraft to other three in the group and each of them can see the overall spectrum of the airspace, combined information of all 4. That enables one Mig-31 to lock and lauch missile to a target detected by any other Mig-31 in the group. This also enables them to create very difficult situation for the enmy aircrafts where one Mig-31 can close the Gap with high Mach speed to increase probability of Kill, launch the missile and run away, making it difficult for the enemy to engage i, and the lauched Missile still can be guided by another Mig-31 behind the missile range of the enemy aircrafts.

I think he is limiting the area exposed for the missile to hit, a smaller side (edge-on profile) serves as a smaller target (his stealth may also help, maybe the edge on cross-section is favourable.) the distant phase where the missile is turning and angling is important to do as you said but in the final phase for a very high speed hypersonic missiles, a last minute flick could do the trick I think, too early and you risk a big surface for contact., that's why after a few hard turns he maintains a relatively straight direction (idk if I am making sense, im just guessing :P, correct me pls, so I can understand it better too)

So you should defeat it no problem when it's close simply by changing altitude at the last moment. Try it with something other than f-22, so we know it sees you. I think those hypersonics were meant for awacses and ground targets, they shouldn't be a threat to fighter jets.

I’d recommend the thrustmaster t16000m as a starter setup. Isn’t too pricy and even though it’s just the stick, it can be twisted and so can be used as a rudder and has a miniature throttle built in.

Nice. Just one question. When you hit the notch and continue in same direction the missile sort of guess your location. What if you after breaking lock do a half loop and continue in the notch in opposite direction? Will be the MIG 31 or the missile able to follow?

The f22 has a radar signature of a bumble bee, so I'm sure the Russians can figure out that any bumble bee going mach 1.2 is probably a target.

Its a bumble bee to some radars but the weapon radars need a better signature to get good locks

Why does the AMRAAM bend its trajectory a little when it drops from the bay? Is it because you're firing it while pulling G or just an AMRAAM thing lol

Wdym by bend? The range here was 23 miles for the first launch, and the missile calculated is Its trajectory in a way it didn't need to loft, even tho GS have it a nose up aspect to loft

Regarding Russian claims at seeing/tracking stealth aircraft, sure, they may be able to see that there is an F35 or F22 in the air, that's not too hard for military radars, but getting a weapon to lock onto one all the way to a kill is vastly different. Also, DEFINITELY should be taking any claims from the Russian government with the NY annual road salt allotment.

We need a ( current dcs versions), flyable foxbat or foxhound- they are the most dangerous, but not just due to r33/r37, but their Mach 3 speed Doing glancing attacks at top speed, no AMRAAM will catch one evading at full speed

Makes sense. Would be a pretty horrible missile to fire at the F-22 due to losing radar track when in the notch often along with the F-22 being able to pull last minute high AoA manoeuvres to get away.
