The problem is that the EULA should say you can't (re)sell the product without changing stuff (Something legit Indie devs do) Changing a splash screen or changing 1 texture shouldn't be a reason to (re)sell it. I'm all in favor of all sorts of games "having a chance", but there really needs to be a vetting process to eliminate cases where they clearly didn't even try to make a good product. Asset flips, and one-level stuff like this. I'm not saying ban anything below AAA quality, hell no. I'm just saying there needs to be ANY scrutiny on the side of Valve to prevent obvious problem-games like this one from going live. They _enable_ this kind of poor behavior by waiting for it to become a problem before doing anything about it. JAJAvsWORLD I thought that's how it works as well but it's not actually true. Steam keeps their cut if the refund is made to steam wallet, but if you refund to a card then it all runs as normal. Either way the publisher pays the same amount back to you. Though I think it should work the way we thought it did. Steam only provides a DRM and distribution service, which they did effectively even if the game gets refunded, so they deserve to paid for the services rendered. It's the publisher at fault for not providing a product up to the customer's satisfaction, so the refund should come out of their pocket.

People saying Steam refunds kill indie games are dead wrong. I purchased Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin, could not get it to work whatsoever. Before, I would be stuck with a broken game, but now, I was able to get my money back rather than being stuck with a broken game.

***** When I first jumped into a offline MP match. The first thing I said out loud was "This feels like MW3....." Even since always referred shit Ghost as *downgraded MW3.5* Who cares about Fish AI, no D.S, no BF3/4 like destruction, we can knock over one tree and blow up one wall that's it.....that's still scripted destructive atmosphere, not full destructive atmosphere as you guys were promoting it as and said. CoD Ghost is going to be the fastest CoD ever, there will be dedicated servers, there is going to be destructible environment, we removed quickscoping from the game....the only thing I see in all the trailers that's in the game is Fish AI

The thing that upsets me most about this situation is that the sort of thing Lord Kres is talking about could actually be happening. People only seem to talk about the scammers. There are tons of Steam users, however, that will buy a game, play it for half an hour and then, return it regardless of quality. The Steam refund policy is extremely fair though. It has plenty of ifs, ands and, buts to protect devs and publishers. It would be nice, however, to know how many users are refunding a majority of their purchases and if Valve is maybe doing anything about it.

I'm concerned that this is starting to become a trend. I've encountered really promising games on steam, which have been greenlit and listed, and then the devs just take the cash and run. No patches, no new episodes, no dlc. I'm glad that valve provides refunds, but I worry this will get out of hand...

So I looked the game up on steam and honestly I don't see how people would think this was real. I mean I am glad everyone got there money back and I am happy that people realized pretty quickly that it was a scam. But the trailer look so fake and there are "quotes" that have no reference of anything to them, it shows still shots of scenes that was shown three seconds ago, it has poor grammar that is either flat out wrong or has statements that just sound weird when said out loud. The whole game just looks really weird and does not seem like a product that someone actually put time and effort into.

If anyone longs for a unique, difficult puzzle gamd, check out Antichamber on steam. It's a game that forces you to switch between logical and lateral thinking on a moment's notice, understanding the puzzle is all it takes to solve it. It also has elements of metroidvania.
