Hi I am one of your subscribers. I love all your recipes. I have a question. Is there any way to store it for longer use? I am just learning about this plant that is growing all over my yard.

I just found your channel and I watched the whole video even though I'm vegetarian just because of your incredibly sweet personality. Then I was so pleasantly surprised when you mentioned a vegetarian adaptation for the recipe. I'm not much of a cook but I'm subscribing just because of your personality ;) The way you speak made me feel like you were talking to me personally and I found myself smiling and nodding throughout the entire video. Bless you, wonderful lady

OMG You guys SHOULD try this food. This is one of my favorite summer side dishes since I was young. In my childhood I had been a sickly child and I used to get sick every summer. Then my mother and motherside grandma cooked me this kkaenipjjim. Now grandma isn't with me, but it's still this is a taste of my childhood.

Thank you! 감사합니다! I recently moved to a smaller town from a large city and finding Korean food has been a challenge, actually non-existent. Your channel has been so helpful for me! I've been making my favorite Korean dishes and my very Mid-Western wife who has blonde hair and eyes, even makes kimchee for me. She can't handle spicy food, but loves me enough to make kimchee. I married the right woman! I love your enthusiasm and wish you continued success and happiness!

Miss Maangchi, I lived in Korea for over 12 years (Seoul, Munson, Pusan) and learned many Korean dishes. I try to make one of yours at least once a week. I too have perilla (kaenip) growing here in Washington State. Have for many years. I really like them fried (tempura). My Korean wife thinks I cook pretty good for a Migook, but your dishes always look better than many other Korean cooks. Beautiful videos on how to do it.

Love watching your channel Maangchi!! Reminds me of when I was a young girl and my mother cooked Korean food everyday. I wish she was here to cook for me now. Definitely brings back memories. Unfortunately she left when I was a teenager so I never learned how to cook her recipes. She reconnected with me recently but just to tell me she has stage 4 liver cancer with only around 6 months left to live. Watching your channel makes me feel like the little girl who used to watch her mother cooking from the moment she woke up in the morning to the time she went to bed. Thank you for giving me back those memories.

I always enjoy your videos and your recipes as well :) when I first saw your up-in -the-sky-garden long ago I decided to grow my own perilla as they don't sell it where I live. I bought seeds from China, planted them, they sprouted and I was really happy looking forward to getting my own leaves ... but my adorable mom, who is a seasoned gardener, weeded them out thinking they were a new species of nettle...Now I'm getting ready for the second try. :)Thank you very much for your inspiring work which makes us all closer to each other.

Maangchi- This was such a lovely video! All of the beautiful colors and beautiful perilla leaves.. I feel the same as you - every day going out to my garden looking to find something new and being excited! That table setting was really beautiful -probably one of your most beautiful settings. So much effort goes into all of those dishes and it’s really appreciated by people who know what goes into it. Camera work is always so impressive! Love all the colors and the editing is sharp. I had a sink full of dishes to wash and I put your new video on to play and the time flew by! ❤️

it makes me so happy to see how much you wash and take care of your ingredients... 3 times you washed your perilla leaves, and it makes the meal that much better! cooking isn't just about putting the ingredients in the right place, despite what a recipe would have you believe. cooking is about the love and care you bring to every step of the way. cooking is love. the main ingredient in the best meal you ever had was pure love.

@lillierees22826 жыл бұрын
I bought mine as a small plant (like when you buy those $2 plants at Home Depot and Lowe's). I found it for $2.50 at an international store (Super G Mart in Charlotte). I put it in a 4X4 foot plant bed around June, and it has grown another couple of feet since my last comment. I'm pretty lazy and don't even water it haha It has flourished on rain water alone.
