Steel plate vs bullets what can it stop?

We use mild steel in our shop daily, and wanted to see how well 1/4 inch A36 mild steel would hold up to common pistol and rifle cartridges.
We tried .22 lt, .22mag, .380acp, 9mm, 38 special, and .223

works fine, can confirm did it myself. try geting an airsoft foam plate for the perfect size mold and to put behind the plate in your rig for confort.

I have a 50 mm Steel Plate inside the front wall of my house. What can that stop and mild Steel is pretty tough that it can stop practically all the pistol rounds with minimum damage It took a rifle 223 to punch a hole through quarter of an inch of steel well the plate I have is 50 mm thick so about 2 inches

Unless they’re using armored piercing or heavy 50 BMG cartridges I can’t see anything in the small rifle pistol caliper, penetrating that
