Awesome review! This review actually made me buy Arctis Pro version without Dac. Here's what was going on for me, i bought originally arctis 5 for pc. Just like u said, they sounds awesome on pc and feel good when wearing them etc etc but then i switched to PS4 for gaming purposes, sound was mixed bag even with usb connection on PS4 console. Footsteps where missing most of the time and sometimes i didnt even get my pinpoint at all which direction my danger was coming from. Then decided to try Arctis Pro and DAMN! even in game menu musics and actual gameplay highs are so clean and crisp and bass was way better comparing to arctis 5 on console. Generally my sound experience was boosted 30% and its was all worth it. I recommend this headset for PS4 gamers for sure, u wont regret it :)

This is quality content. May your subscribers steadily increasing.
I just received my Arctis Pro headset and I have to admit I didn't really do my homework. I saw all the glowing reviews about the Arctis Pro's sound quality and they're not wrong! Unfortunately I have a large head and after not researching more and purchasing these I'm not sure they're for me. I just can't seem to get them to sit comfortably on my big head. Besides loosening the headband I've read that I could "bend" the arch somewhat to help eleviate the pressure. I'm going to continue playing while using them and see how it goes! Hopefully I can make it work because they really do have phenomenal audio. Also thank you for such a detailed review.

@GainingDespair4 жыл бұрын
I agree, they should have used full metal but honestly looking at how thin the head band is I'm willing to guess that will absorb most of the pressure and not the plastics link. I could be wrong but the gauge is so thin that any reasonable amount of force should cause the headband to stretch vs putting force on the link. On normal headsets the head band is very stiff and has little give which ultimately puts a log of pressure on it, that certainly is a load point and matters but with these I think the headband would most likely stretch before any significant load is placed on the link.

You make AMAZING reviews, one tip with headsets though is show and tell us the length of the wires coming out of the headset, because some of us(like myself) run our wires under the bottom of our desks to my pc or across the room to the console and we need extra room to stretch our wires

The headset is designed to have the headphone cups twist to face upward when resting on the user’s neck. The hinge is not designed to sustain the forces subjected to the headset with the act of removal i.e. the cups have not been designed to flex or extend past the diameter of the users neck when facing up, only when adjacent to the band. Despite this being an advertised feature of the headset, this is not functional and caused a physical fault due to lack of support in the structural design of the cup. The fault caused the hinge to assert a force against the shell of the cup causing the plastic to shatter and crack causing jagged edge to the cup with an exposed circlip presenting a risk. Steel series Is yet to fix this problem 05/2021
@kokovlo2 жыл бұрын
I’ve gone through 2 of these headsets. Both broke due to the hinge issue you talk about. It really annoys me because the feel, sound, and mic are all great to me. The only thing that ruins this headset for me is that it breaks so easily because of that hinge.

I actually purchased these yesterday at Best Buy but found "your" review today, and of course I purchased the Best Buy Coverage (roughly $170 total). The only bad thing about SteelSeries is their customer service is rather shoddy. Very good review. You even cover the SS Engine 3, which needs to be downloaded, which is essential to getting these to sound their best. I had some trouble actually accessing the menu you referenced, but once I figured it out I could have slapped myself. Basically, these have nearly the exact same features as the DAC, except with these you need the Engine to make adjustments and the DAC is self contained in a convenient box, and the DAC is "high res certified". All I know is they sound great, and you are 100% correct about the clarity and range of these. I think they are definitely worth $140, even though that is pushing it.
@TheTechne5 жыл бұрын

Looking at getting these myself to replace my otherwise excellent hyper x cloud 1's, which i bought at my local bestbuy after trying on a display model (they are super duper comfy). An acquaintance of mine was telling me about them and the full suite of adjustment setting as well as sidetone, a much missed feature absent on all hyperx headsets along with seemingly the vast majority of $100+ gaming head sets and boggles me as to why, as my original $40 turtle beach x-12's had it (hyperx's official solution is to set my mic to "listen" which result in my voice playing through the headset on a delay and interrupting myself in the process),and while ive gotten somewhat used to either talking like im deaf or leaving an ear uncovered, along with muting game volume while chatting with friends lest they be rendered unintelligible over gunfire and game music, since they also do not mute game volume when someone speaks on chat like my x-12's, it just aint the same. Is a gamedac like an amp? As i am not a fan of them due to causing interference (buzzing perceptable at high volume and sometimes my mic as well so other players can hear it, which only gets worse over time), along with added complexity when it comes to switching between the headset and desktop speakers (aka having to unplug everything from my tower instead of just the headphone jack).

I managed to take care of this through the balance settings that Windows offers. However, this decreases the overall volume by quite a lot. Secondly, whenever I'm using live mic preview in the SteelSeries Engine, the microphone produces a whole lot of feedback and echoes like crazy. So basically, the headset is not functioning properly. I was wondering if you've come across issues like these or heard of them and whether you know of any solutions etc. So far SteelSeries customer support doesn't seem very receptive to my support ticket. What’s ur opinion on them now
@Axurias3 жыл бұрын
@@dragoon9382 They are really really great. I just wished the bass had a bit more “boom” to it if you get what I mean. But all in all the sound quality is amazing. To me personally Im looking around to get a more boom bass headset. Because its just my preference. But if that isnt really an issue for you, I’d definitely recommend them.

@@Axurias And what about the batter life and what not? Is it still holding up?
@Axurias Жыл бұрын
@@keiztratHey man. To be honest with you, I didn't go with the wireless one. I know I said this in my comment but at the very end I changed my decision. I ended up with the Arctis pro with the Game DAC. I wont buy from Steelseries again. I bought a mouse pad and it turned out to be really bad quality such as the headphones itself. They broke very fast. And I am someone who is very careful with gaming gear as I know it's all expensive. At one point I wanted to play a video game, tried to put the headphones on my head and it broke. Like the left cup broke and only a little cable was still attached. Now I have an EPOS H6PRO (closed back) and I must say this is one of the best headphones I ever had. It's not wireless but the quality of the sound, comfort and build quality is top notch. It's great for listening to music, watching movies and playing games all together. It might not be the best headphones for extreme competitive gaming but oh well. It does all other things just right.

I like the comfort of these though. I have not adjusted them once yet. I like the way they stay fit on my head. Some headsets are just horrible.

Trying to pick out a good headset is hard. I'd like a pair with great surround quality for single player gaming but also good for everyday use watching videos, listening to music, and doing phone meetings. Having both Bluetooth and 3.5 mm wired would be good too. I was looking at some Bose ones I liked, but they don't have surround and apparently also not very good bass from what I've been reading.

When I connect my Arctis Pro to my pc through usb, I can't select 24 bit, studio quality in sounds settings, but with the 3.5 mm jack adapter to pc, I can, but the rgb does not light up, but the sound quality is really better.

And the beyerdynamic dt990 pros have a grill inside the ear cup which means you'll have 0 distortion and it has no rgb but it has silver ear cups and it feels like a cloud is on your ears and it can decrypt high and lows and I can honestly say they're the best purchase I have ever made in my life.

@@TheTechne Yeah that good it's about the same price as the steelseries arctis pro and it has really good bass boost and you can hear enemies reloading on the other side of a wall

Attention for future purchasers!! I own the 7s the pro wirless and the pro wired. If you only have console I say fo with the wireless 7s. But you want even more sound go with the wireless pros. But the wired pros in my opinion would be better for PC gaming That sound isn't that much better than the wireless pros. In fact the wireless pro transmitter works the same way the dac does. If you ask me I own them all.
