I dislike how dance schools often associate skill level with age and also categorize it like that. Beginner is like 12-16 and intermediate 16-20. That's why I like steezy. There are no restrictions, you can just learn whatever you want whenever you want.
@hunnibei82245 жыл бұрын
Same same it’s frustrating definitely with ballet or contemporary classes
@mee70555 жыл бұрын
It's because usually mainly in ballet or contemporary, the dancers start at a very young age for, in the future, becoming professional dancers. And that is usually the age for begginers to have enough time to, at their 18s be already graduated. But some schools don't, their classes are (for ballet): baby initialization, juvenile (begginers, intermediate, advanced) and adult (B, I, A as well). But you gotta be careful bc there are schools who focus on profissional formation and others in just casual dance.
@emanuelazizic81265 жыл бұрын
I am stuck in the beginner class cause I am 13😢 it's the worst thing cause you have to do the most simple moves all the time
@mee70555 жыл бұрын
@@emanuelazizic8126 but that is the MOST important part! You gotta create body and muscle consciousness! If you don't do this simple moves, you won't be able to do de hard ones. I didn't started by the basics because I thought that I was good enough... Well I'm not and now I have to run over it because it's not easy without the basics. The basics are your foundation. Work hard on it and you'll be a great dancer in the future. Practice those everyday but don't skip the basics! I recommend you also to just start looking at other movements from intermediate and try it!

It's a fun way to start and some of the moves are simple enough that they really show off how strong your foundation is. (ex. grooves in those catchy, repetitive, moves in the hook of a song). Although, you should eventually try to get a deeper understanding behind what makes those moves look good, which is hard without some sort of instruction. It'll also help those moves feel more comfortable when you do them.

In ballet we have something called marking the dance. Our teachers never let us stand around to watch, we need to do a "draft" of the moves. This was great advice.
@theluckyproject8044 Жыл бұрын
could you elaborate on that? You do a "Draft" of the moves, meaning what exactly?
@amanda127111 ай бұрын
@@theluckyproject8044 marking is focusing on the position of where your hands and feet should be, where certain parts of your body should move toward and stuff like that but not doing the dance full out. You're doing like 30% of the actual movement of the dance and just hitting the marks where your body should be positioned.

Can someone give out some advice to someone who started dance late like 13 years old (1 year ago for me) I do hip hop classes but I want Try to do Jazz and tap just to be more diverse in my dance skill set but mostly enjoy and best at hip hop. And ballet maybe too but I think it’s too late for that. But the thing is when I go to dance concerts I feel so embarrassed because I started super freaking late and my friends who are like younger or same age as me basically already know the basics and are super advanced. I just wish I was that good and I feel SUPER dumb since i started so late. Help please!
@MinLina_5 жыл бұрын
Heyy it's never too late to start something especially since you are still in your teens. I started to actually love dancing at 17 tho. Don't push yourself to be good immediately just because the people around you are already good at it. Take your time to tackle one thing at a time. Only you can control your own pace and how you learn. Be passionate, take inspirations from other resources to develop your own style and never stop improving 😊
@Allisonsreviews5 жыл бұрын
I started tap and jazz at 13 with no prior experience ! There will be a bit of a learning curve but by the time I hit 15 I was able to dance with people my own age. If you enjoy it go for it! And even when I did tap and jazz my dance teacher always suggested ballet. It’s going to take some time ! Don’t be so hard on yourself ! Keep at it and you’ll do great

i started this year and im 17 turning almost 18. wherever you go in any field or sport theyll say it just takes time and dedication. i also feel ridiculously slow and behind but the more i tend to enjoy it rather than focusing physically i find myself S L O W L Y getting better. keep on dancing cause anyone can do it 👀
@milicaperic23045 жыл бұрын
I would literally give anything just to be 13, I'm 17 and I started a few months ago and I also feel like I started late and that I don't have enough time, but the truth is you had to start some day and you can't change the fact that you didn't start since you were a kid, just be happy that you started now because that's also not late. I'm 17 and I of course still don't know most of the things, but when you be 17 you'll know a lot of things so try to think in that positive way. We all think that life is short and it is, but we can do what we want to, life is just ahead of us and I know a lot of people who are 50 and older and they are still dancing, even better than a lot of younger ones. So don't worry about that just imagine yourself in 10 years you'll be greeeat! It's normal that you feel that way because they are dancing longer than you, but they also had to start somewhere and they also had to learn and practice, just remember that,they weren't always that good and full of knowledge, so just be positive and don't give up and it's gonna be great
@ussipoeg6425 жыл бұрын
Firstly, dancing is simple enough (you can become a superb dancer with only 5 years of dedicated learning) so it’s never late to start dancing :). The key to all that is patience and dedication, also, don’t compare yourself to others and don’t pressure yourself unless u feel it’s necessary. Do it with love and passion, it’s about the emotion, not about anything else :)
@faye36423 жыл бұрын
ever since i first watched step up at a very young age i wanted to be a dancer, me and my sister even learned some of the step up dances but soon she grew out of it and i had no one else to dance with so i stopped until 4 years ago in 6th grade my middle school offered an after school dance class, which i took but then after 6th grade i moved middle school and didn’t have time to dance (and no money for classes) now i’m 15 and in 10th grade, i decided i don’t need to take a in person class i’ll just self teach myself to get where i want and what i want :) hopefully in the future i have to chance to be a backup dancer or part of a dance group because it’s something i’ve always wanted.

Like every people in the comment section, yes, I am also introduced properly to the dance world because of kpop and I want to be a good dancer like Seulgi and Taeyong one day. And also those dancing journey and improvements that's been recommended in my KZbin really inspired me more to be one. Though my limbs are still stiff to dance tho, I am working hardest to stretch enough and exercise and groove with the music I wanna dance. Founding STEEZY's channel made my life change and I never regret anything about it. Love you 🤧❤️❤️
