Why YOU Need To Drive A BMW M2 Competition!!

The BMW M2 Competition is a car i have wanted to drive since it was released! I did not think it would be this good though!!! The M2 competition is so much fun to drive and you need to drive one! with sound of that S55 engine and stunning looks the BMW M2C is in my opinion one of the great BMW M cars that has been produced!

I cannot help to think that modern cars are all computer aided drive, effectively the computer is driving the car. All these complexity selecting your drive mode for the computer to drive it in a particular way. I respect Chris Bangle for giving purist the last real M car, having said that the reality before me is M2 competition pack and I enjoyed your perspective of it. Long live NA!!

Dmthw bad: the m2 cp (3600 lbs ) its 110 lbs heavier than a 2018 M3 ( 3490 lbs) and 150 lbs heavier than standar M2. Weight play an importany role n racing applications.

I like the fact that the 1m coupe is a limited edition. It’s more special. Drive wise the S55 in this car is epic man, newer feel to it, both cars drive so well not obviously the M2 is more modern, 1m looks angry with its wide arches. With a tune you will knock on the 500bhp door in the M2C. Serious power.

New subscriber so I haven't had the opportunity to view all of your past reviews as yet. You sound like a pretty knowledgable guy and I know you like your performance cars so here is my question. I Love BMW performance cars ie M3 etc but currently own a last of the line Astra VXR mainly due to pricing ( M2 competition 68 plate 40k - 50k my Astra VXR 67 plate 20 k ) In your opinion is this a decent car considering I have all the toys and more power ( 280bhp ) than I could ever wish to use. Thanks for subscribing man. It’s a big jump in money. The M2C is an incredible car. Rear wheel drive is very fun too. I personally love it. I couldn’t fork out the 50k plus for one just now. Not driven a VXR so will be tough. A M140i is a cheaper option. B58 engine is mega and very tuneable. Going for around 25k now second hand 🙌

It’s all down to that opf filter. Remove that and get an exhaust on it and it will sound mega

Sound has never been the strong suit of the S55 engine, although many would argue this. My biggest gripe with the M2C is that huge muffler; I've seen owners paint it black which does a decent job of hiding it at least.

Both great machines. Would struggle to drive the Giulia with as much confidence as the M2C. Giulia is an animal. Extra 100hp and it’s either traction fully off or on.

i would say get into a 6MT, auto is cool and convenient and shifts faster, but the manual on this car is far more comfortable than other manuals i've driven(i came from a wrx and sti and a 5.0), this thing is easy to drive , and as a daily i dnt think id mind it, also wanted to say i test drove the n55 variant, so things possibly could be better on the comp, not too sure but ya my 2 cents!

The alfa quadrifolio its an extrenely heavy vehicle . 4500 lbs , so it means its 1000 lbs heavier tha an M2 CP.

Thanks man, lol it was very greasy out there, only really sent it once to show the MDM mode. The others were just accelerations and with such slippery roads and 400bhp it was obvious the back would slide. With the traction fully on it was cutting the power out too much. The idea is to showcase the car in the best light and show what it can do. I always respect cars. Always let them warm up cool down. If the back end goes out a bit in first gear I don’t thank that’s disrespecting the car, and bare in mind a 10 min drive on cam doesn’t reflect a week’s worth of driving 👍🏻👍🏻
