Even if they hired your favorite person to run the company it's not going to turn around over night. Costs will have to be cut, employees laid off, suppliers cut and dealers closed until the company is profitable again. Short of government intervention (which won't make anything better), that's the only way it's going to happen. Their current crop of cars are not going to save them, they're going to have to dump them in a fire sale and start over. They need to find high quality parts and lower priced labor.

Another new episode of Stellantis drama? What I think is if you replace Tavares and Fain, it won't do anything about dealer sales and the ship will continue to sink. It'll continue to sink especially if keep the heavy baggage on board regardless of who's captain of the ship. So change the management or eliminate it altogether, it won't change anything. What Stellantis needs is customers buying out dealer stock on a regular basis. If they had that then they can have all the shifts and workers that the union wants them to have.

im thinking this goes much deeper than sean fain or tavrres.. this is an issue with the car market.. and specifically the cars of today... to me this is the 1970s ho hum car market all over again.. when we started to see the automotive industry go in the tanks.. the likes of which obviously chrysler brought on iacocca .. who had to bring some kind of excitement back to cars.. (bringing out the convertible again, inventing the mini van)... right now theres nothing new to draw customers into dealerships.. couple with high prices why should anyone buy a new car.. why would I buy a new ram when i lose the V8 and theres no new features worth having over any ram made in the last 5 years.. same with jeep.. the gladiator has run its course for those excited.. the wrangler has real competition in the bronco now.. no big 3 manufacturer has an affordable entry level car to excite young people for their first new car.. ford(mustang).. GM (cadillac, corvette) still have rear drive enthusiast cars.. but even those arent much different year to year.. vette maybe.. for a few years we saw horsepower wars which excited enthusiasts.. then we saw increasing tech features like adaptive cruise and conected-car features and hands free driving to excite techie consumers.. what now? its almost like the smartphone market.. what ore can you do that hasnt been done? for the first time in my life im NOT excited about getting a new car even though I have a lease expirng next month and another in march... this goes beyonf stellantis too.. i think we see GM and ford follow suit with more and ore layoffs.. although i think they are better positioned to take on the reduced demand for EVs better as they have alternatives.. ford probably the best.. stellantis is going to need to get people excited about its cars again... the charger EV could possibly do it *IF* they outlawed any sales over MSRP by its dealers... and did what they did with the gladiator and offered some attractive 24 month lease deals pretty soon after introduction to get them out there... I bought into gladiator because of that... (or should say leased)..

IMO most young people don't care about cars like years ago. They have other areas of interest instead...computer games...social media. Most see cars as transportation and want safety, affordable prices, reliability. Part of it is CAFE standards driving sedans to all look the same for aero reasons. Part of it is fear of failure since it costs so much to bring out a new vehicle....a lot of copycatting.

Then import rebadged vehicles from European countries where labour cost are lower (Poland, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Mexico, Italy), and also perhaps from China, Malaysia, and India. Some of the current Jeep products are just rebranded Fiats. Laying off may also make it easier to sell plants and brand names to China, as if too man y jobs are threatened to be lost and China comes up with the cash, the U.S. Government may let the Chinese buy it. Something is rotten in "Holland". the HQ of Still-Anus.
