Just wanna take a couple moments to highlight a few pros in regards to your channel here. First off, excellent tutorials! As a newbie to Stellaris I have found it to be an intensely compelling game full of fun things to explore and do, but the learning curve and sheer complexity of the game is daunting for a newcomer! I've looked at a few tutorial guides and found yours to be the best! The narration of your voice is perfect for a game like this. Not only is the tone of your voice fitting for the genre, but you get right to the nitty-gritty without adding a bunch of fluff and meaningless banter. Also, your approach for explaining things is very well-thought out, clear, and efficient. The structure of the tutorials is straight forward and concise and doesn't waste words like so many others do. I've been able to learn exactly what I needed to know about the game with each video without having to scrub forward to skip the BS, like I find myself doing in other videos. Not only that, but the quality in the sound is also spot on. Great job bro, you definitely earned my subscription! Thanks for being a breath of fresh air.

I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment. A very helpful guide for someone like me who is clueless and trying to feel my way into the game. It can be frustrating to come across options that won't do anything and you don't know why. For example I've just found out that expansion not only depends on resources, but influence too! A small point, but waging war is not an option when you are short on influence. I've a lot to learn!

can we just take a moment and realize how comfortable the whole listening experience of this video is? not just the timbre of his voice itself, but also the sound equalisation/engineering.. no boomy ear destroying bass, no retina-detaching, eardrum slicing S'ses, no audible noise, no annoying music, just the ambient sound from the game, at a decently lowered level from your voice, with the midtones filtered out to create THAT MUCH BIT better audio separation from your voice... bravo. For your audio alone you have my sub!

I seen you integrate an empire. It was cool because it created a vacuum, and you had to recover economically.
@ColorsFadeGaming
@ColorsFadeGaming 4 жыл бұрын
That is one thing I've learned to do a bit better, and I probably should have mentioned it (but heck, maybe a small video on Vassals is next?) is that it really pays to PREPARE for their integration. Once you start the process, it takes a few years to complete (longer the bigger the empire I believe, but again, would be good to get that information solid and present in a guide). So you have some time to focus on your empire and pumping up your resources in preparation for the horrible worlds you're going to get once the integration is complete :)

This was by far the most through and informative tutorial that I've come across for Stellaris. I was going oit of my mind trying to figure out how end a war and keep all the systems that I conquered, especially since after a period of time I'm forced to end it on terms that are not in my favor. I'll be sure to check out your videos as I continue to tackle the galaxy. Thanks!

So if I conquer a whole empire and settle for a status quo will I earn everything?
@ColorsFadeGaming
@ColorsFadeGaming 4 жыл бұрын
@@bradparchment3141 Only if you have claims on "everything". One way to get rid of a smaller empire is to only claim the inhabited systems. Then, conquer every world and settle for Status Quo. You'll earn all the enemy's planets and the systems that contain those planets. All other uninhabited systems in the enemy's territory will revert to "unclaimed" and then it's a free-for-all with everyone else.

Great guide! A lot of good tips even for semi-experienced players, especially the vassalize and integrate trick. One thing I'd like to add though is my personal favorite way of conquering half a galaxy in one fell swoop: the Colossus Total War casus belli. Simply build a colossus and then go ham on every empire in planet cracking range, no claims required.

BTW: if you have a Colossus (if you have the Apocalypse DLC and have built a Colussus), you will also have a total war cases belli, though you lose the casus belli if you lose the Colossus. However, if you lose it during the middle of the war, the casus belli still applies.

Something else that might be good to mention about wars is that the cost to claim a system increases the number of jumps it is away, if it has a station, and if it has a planet. So if they are a large empire you might want to claim some closer systems, take those, and then fight another war in ten years because claiming the remaining systems will be cheaper if you are closer. It's also a reason the total war Cassi Belli is so freaking strong. You can spend influence on other things.

@@ColorsFadeGaming You got mind reading powers now? As soon as I finished your three video series of tutorials, the next thing I looked up was ship tutorials. Problems I've seen are either they're from 2018, which is back when I last played and so the info is severly outdated. Or there's a few made in 2020 but they assume you know so much, and start at max-tier ships to explain mehcnaics and systems that a new player or someone coming back in from the cold, woudln't understand what they're looking at. Would also suggest you touch on if/when the auto-best option is good and when to disregard it and design your own ships. Either way, good luck with the next video, take your time, and I'll be subbed to know when it comes out!

This is incredibly helpful. I watched it a while back during a cold war where relations between the United Nations of Earth and a neighboring dictatorship were rapidly digressing. An arms race began and I knew it was time to educate myself on the laws of war. Fortunately, things cooled off and the humans remained in peace for a while. Now we have found ourselves in a full galactic war between a democratic Coalition of Free Systems and authoritarian Galactic Accord. Upon COMPLETELY occupying one of the neighboring authoritarian empires, I was confused as to why we didn't simply own the land. I returned to this video and now understand why. Thank you for such a straightforward and easy to follow explanation of all the basics needed to be competent in a galactic war.

I love how status quo is championed as the default war end result. With strict requirements on having a reason to go to war in the first place, rules to follow during the war itself, and needing to pay influence for claiming each system. In other 4x games, I can simply walk across the map with my doomstack and call it a day. Ignoring all diplomatic penalties if I want to just paint the map red. It feels too easy to wipe out the AI, and isn’t very fun. Stellaris seems to allow the AI a chance to make comebacks throughout the rest of the game. And if the player falls behind, they can exist as a vassal while they rebuild instead of just quitting the campaign and starting over. Cool stuff.

Once again an awesome guide! I had no idea there were so many Casus Beli! (It also seems to be doing awesome too! 180 views as of 4 hours of being posted! Nice!) This covers the first half of war absolutely perfectly, but the thing I really want to see next is a complete guide to ships and ship design. There are so many things I don't get about it and honestly reading up on them on the wiki never seems to stick as well as watching a video. Some of the things I would love to see in it are: -A breakdown of all the ship sizes, and their different customization options. -A breakdown of all the different weapons, and how they work. Especially when they are in short, medium and long range slots, and how that changes how they work. -The mechanics of weapons, such as accuracy, and how that affects overall damage. -How shields, armor and hull are calculated, and how to make ships that counter them well. -How FTL inhibitors affect war, and some more advanced tactics such as building bases and luring the AI into traps with them, or looking at enemy ships while they are in the opponents system and "scouting" where they are going. (You can see which direction the AI is sending ships by which hyperlane they move towards in adjacent enemy systems and is a great way of out maneuvering them) -How to merge and split fleets, and what all the gizmos in the fleet manager do. -The main upgradable components of all ships, such as the thrusters, hyper drive and reactor core and what they do. -How retreating in a battle works, and how different policies can change the outcome of a battle. An example would be using the "no retreat" doctrine and how that means you lose all your ships in a fight, instead of some of them respawning elsewhere. I apologise if a misslabled anything or had any incorrect info here. I'm still a beginner at the game and am trying to learn. I loved this guide and as you can see I am hungry for more! These seem to get lots of juicy views too so they seem to be worth it to do. If you ever are in need of a video idea, this would be a fantastic one to compliment this guide since the two go so in hand.

Stunning guides on Stellaris, now I just need a guide on what the best or atleast good routes are to go down when it comes to tech if you wanna get a heavy duty fleet quick for defense, and ofc what sort of tech you should aim for mid/late game. Hopefully you have this done already!

I have not done anything on Research routes for the simple reason that Stellaris's "Tech Tree" is somewhat random. So it's really hard to tell users "Get X, Y and Z, in this order", because it's not a hard-and-fast static tree you can traverse like in a game such as Galactic Civilizations 3 or Endless Space 2. You can influence the emerging Research somewhat by slotting Research specialists in certain jobs (example: if you put a Particles specialist in the Physics slot, you're more likely to get Particles Research showing up). Only two suggestions I can really give (that keep it simple) is research Reactor Tech and Hull Tech every single time they popup, as soon as you get them. Those will generally spearhead everything else.

@@ColorsFadeGaming Nice man I never knew that as I'm fairly new to Stellaris and it's fantastic. I currently have the Utopia and Synthetic Dawn expansions so I have a good few others to get, have you got all expansions and if so what do you favour the most out of them all?

@@stevzor I have all the major ones, and a few of the minor ones. Utopia is by far the best. After that, Apocalypse and Federations have a lot of value.

I remember having a major game between three major human factions, and a few smaller alien ones in my game. Had vanilla United Nations of Earth and Commonwealth of Man duke it out whilst my neutral empire the Human Colonial Initiative (Direct democracy) colonised as many planets possible and later mobilised for war. Story-wise the HCI were several colonies split between UNE and COM jurisdiction but they later broke away due to feeling shunned, oppressed and forgotten. COM wanted HCI back under their boot whilst t the UNE wanted to co-exist with them. The HCI later allied with UNE after forming a federation (Galactic Union type that I named Galactic Partnership for Peace) with my smaller custom empires. They were: The Ee'koni Heirarchy (Theocratic Oglicarchy) The Lotharian Hegemony (totalitarian regime) And the Del'rana Defence Force (military commissarist) Managed to get them all on my side against COM and later we kicked out the UNE from our federation and I vassalised them. What a game that was. 😁

Your guides are great. I recently bought Stellaris and it's my first serious 4X game (I tried Crusader Kings 2 a few years ago but it was too overwhelming). Coming from RTS games and the Total War series where wars are pretty straight forward, the complexity of the war system here amazes me. There are so many interesting mechanics and details. Thank you for your guides, which greatly helped me to understand this game.

Great job as always :), i wonder what will happen if you wage war to vassalize an empire, and settle status quo, but you control like 50% of the system and planets. Will they be releiesed as a vassal only partialy?
@ColorsFadeGaming
@ColorsFadeGaming 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, so I meant to cover that, but I was having a difficult time getting a good screen shot of it. So, what happens in that scenario, if you offer a STATUS QUO in a SUBJUGATION WAR and you haven't conquered everything (in my experience) the enemy empire will SPLIT OFF into two factions. One faction will become your vassal, and the other empire will become your enemy. But now they're much smaller and weaker and you don't have to worry about them. And sometimes they're so small you can then run a CLAIMS WAR against them and finish them off. I've had that happen a LOT actually. Just didn't have a good video clip of it! But great question!
@VijoPlays
@VijoPlays 3 жыл бұрын
Huh, that's interesting. I assumed nothing will happen, but I guess that's a great way to chop up an enemy, without having to integrate the whole empire at once
