Hello there, I watched your video and thank you for helping me start a window cleaning round. I'm struggling to find the same Spring pump controller you used. There are quite a few other pump controllers but I'm struggling to understand what controllers could work with the shuflow pump and the wiring etc 😃 I'm a complete novice lol
@squeakycleandave110 ай бұрын
That's quite an old video where I used the V11 basic pump controller. Nowadays most people sell the upgraded controller which is called the V16. Most of the major suppliers sell them. You might find that they bare in the suppliers own colours buy they are the same inside. This is a link to Springs website. springltd.co/v16-basic

@@markgooding8131 I know it depends on what type of van you have but you normally would have a split charger or a battery to battery charger. You can have a wire directly but I wouldn’t. Can't help but wonder how the controller controls the amount of litres per minute? - the pump doesn't have any feedback signal wire, it just seems to be a analogue voltage output (or pulsed maybe) but designed to carry high currents that would fry a transistor. From what i can work out, it's not litres per minute but a voltage controller showing a percentage up to the maximum?

Hi Christopher I don't know if you know or not that sodium hypercloride damages K rend. If you are thinking of starting soft washing I would seriously recommend you get some training first from softwash training solutions first. softwashtrainingsolutions.co.uk

I've watched all of your basic setup vids to create zero TDS water and I feel pretty confident about that. My question for your would be if I am going to store water in a reservoir (because I can't make 0 TDS water fast enough with the RO/DI setup) and I going to feed a Pressure washer for washing cars, will I need a second pump to feed 2 GPM to the pressure washer, or should gravity be enough to feed the pressure washer? If I need a pump, I would assume I should also include a controller with a dead end to shut that pump down when I don't have the trigger pushed on the pressure washer? Can you confirm for me?
@squeakycleandave12 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff Thats a great question and to be honest im not really sure. My pressure washer will draw its own water from a container but I know not all will. the pumps we use for window cleaning run at 1 GPM so they wouldn't be enough for your pressure washer. I know you can get higher GPM pumps but im not sure if the controllers would match them or if you would need a controller with a higher output. Hope you find your answer.

Dave, when you connected the red to brown wire which one of the red wires from the pump did you use, the one nearest the camera or tip of pump clip in or the back one closest to the inline water feed clip in?? If it's the front one then I have it connected to a plug in alongside the black wire then would need to splice it. If it's the other that one is connected from the back side of the pump I'd have to splice and join it three ways.
@squeakycleandave13 жыл бұрын
The red and black wire both come out of the metal and pf the pump furthest from the camera. The red then comes down to a contact which is nearest to the camera in the plastic part. Another red then comes out of the plastic part just slightly higher up then where it goes in. This is where you connect the controller. The plastic part at the end of the pump is the pressure switch. hope this makes sense. if not feel free to give me a call

@@squeakycleandave1 thanks for your reply but I want to make sure I got this right. I have a North Star pump, the red and black wires that come from the back side of the pump goes as follows, the red which comes from the back is connected to the pressure switch but is the second plug in from the front going going back. The other red wire is connected to the plug in but is the front one closest to the camera and runs off to join the black wire (connected together) to a wire harness that plugs directly into the battery. Are you saying the red one that comes from the back of the pump and plugs into the pressure switch 2nd from camera is the one I use to connect the controller?

@@DrHurtYou it’s hard to picture as I’ve never seen a North Star pump so I can’t really advise. You would probably be best if you ring Spring who make the pumps as they should be able to help 01892 662078

Im looking to set up my own company in ireland here, this video helped me get an idea of whats needed, how much do you reckon all this costs on average? Is there things you have to replace often?
@squeakycleandave13 жыл бұрын
Most of this equipment lasts once you have it as long as you look after it. A ball park figure on the price would depend on what tank, hose reel pump and controller battery you have but you are probably looking at around £600. That doesn’t include pole, brush or filtration though

Rob and dawn jowett my pumps is about 6” above the bottom of my tank. The only time I ever have a problem is if the tank is completely empty and I such in some air but even then when you fill the tank it normally starts up no problem.
