I discovered Melissa’s amazing YT channel in early 2022 when I was faced with the challenge of packing for two weeks in Colorado for my son’s wedding (I’m in the UK). Prior to the wedding we would have some city days in Denver, some evening first meet-ups with our (very soon to be) new extended family, a pre-wedding day of horse trekking, a family & friends BBQ, the wedding itself and then a week’s hiking in the Colorado Rockies. Eeek - everything needed to fit into one large suitcase. I didn’t know where to start and it wasn’t helped by my having spent the previous 2 years in my covid “uniform” of chinos and a t-shirt/polo-neck depending on the season (I know, I know). I soaked up MM’s videos and, in a nutshell, her advice worked like a dream. In fact, when we had a couple of unexpected invites on the holiday, instead of my going in to a “oh no I didn’t pack anything for a boat trip” panic, I was easily able to assemble an appropriate outfit with accessories. Big thanks to Melissa and her excellent colleagues.

I try to plan on a days away basis and add a few extras but your method is good with activities in mind. The whole packing experience becomes even easier if you have access to a place to do laundry. Oh yes - Melissa gave good advice for Cornwall. I feel my weather sense living in muggy microclimate London is wrong for just about everywhere else. We used to go to Manchester and Wales a lot when the children were small to see my family and for holidays and I usually could not seem to take the right clothes for me and the weather - even ended up wearing two t shirts (plus other layers) and feeling rubbish. I'm not completely better at it now so this video was worth watching.

Brilliant ideas for holiday , u explain it so well! I have recently found the yellow bottle of elbow grease gets yellow sun cream stains out of white clothes , went to Spain in the summer and it was on a linen shirt and a dress , sprayed them both left over night and put them in washer next morning it worked a treat …. I have never found anything to remove suncream before . I hope this helps anybody this problem .

I love your advice about starting with the weather forecast which sounds obvious but is something so many don't do! If I am going on a city break I start with my footwear as being able to walk for hours is paramount. I love your tip about starting with jackets also.

A jacket with a hood for Cornwall, or indeed anywhere in the UK is advisable.. Even going somehwere for a day causes me anxiety. Recently rushed up by train to Stockport to visit a sick relative. Leaving SW London at 8.30am the weather was balmy. Had to buy a cheap jumper from a charity shop on my arrival as the weather was totally different! A very considered video - thanks. Do you do the same for your husband and children? Is Monty going? Enjoy your Cornwall break.

The board is split between ‘ACTUAL items I showed’ (this is the first section) then the second section is titled ‘SIMILAR items’. So the trousers (if they were still available) will be the only navy trousers in the ‘ACTUAL’ section. Hope that helps x
