The automatic transmission, in my opinion, is one of mankind's incredible inventions and now we have 10-speed automatic transmissions on trucks also! I mean, if you look at it, it's just genius!

Well a transmission on my car is almost 3000. Parts for a rebuild are 260. You decide what matters most. Labor is where it will hit you most. My old Kia needed an engine that was about 2.3k but to have the mechanic install it, it would have been $12,000, and I owed 16,000 on it.

I have a mitsubishi endeavor 2004 and a mechanic is doing a transmission rebuild - It needs 2 wave springs to complete the rebuild and its been the hardest part to acquire I can't find it in any rebuild kits online for my car and the dealerships here only will replace the transmission no one sells the parts. I don't know if I will get any answers here but I will try. I have a 2004 toyota corolla with transmission issues. When the car is going slow and when applying the brakes, there is a clicking noise. I had a garage show me where the noise was coming from while the car was on a lift and it was definitely the transmission and I could hear the clicking noise. Unfortunately, that didn't tell me what the actual problem was. I don't know if there might be a worn out or damaged bearing or something. I wanted to mention this here on this video posting in hopes of someone being able to have an idea of what the issue could be. It's an automatic transmission before I forget to mention this.

ALWAYS soak your new clutches! Never assemble them dry! Soak in trans fluid for at least an hour. And always replace the pump. They're cheap. Also didn't see you replace any bushings in this unit either. You guys should know better!

soaking clutches dose nothing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
@nevinkuser9892 Жыл бұрын
Everything is going to soak anyways after it gets installed.
@CMDR_CLASSIFIED Жыл бұрын
@@nevinkuser9892 It's not the same. Clutches need to be submerged in trans fluid before installing. And dry parts of the clutch that spin against a steel will remain dry, and burn out fast. Besides, there is plenty of time for them to soak while you are assembling the transmission. I am a Mechanic (35+yrs), and I have been rebuilding engines since I was 7, and automatics since I was 12. I have learned from some of the best, and learned on my own.

There's plenty of old decrepit cars lying around that the body is destroyed but transmission is most likely still rebuildable. All the parts inside the transmission have been sheltered from the weather so it ain't going to make a difference. Only the outside will be dirty but you can scrub brush it in 3 minutes.
