Thanks for this helpful video! From what I can tell, the only way to create an automation with ManyChat's free version is to use an already published post or reel in IG. Setting the automation up for the "next post/reel" is only available for PRO users. Do you know of a work around? It just doesn't make sense to have to publish the post/reel first, and then immediately scramble to create the automation so that people to don't start commenting the keyword before the automation is activated. Hopefully I'm missing something here!

I do not believe there is a work around! But, you can go ahead and set up the draft of the automation to have ready. Then, post your reel & publish the draft at roughly the same time! It's a little tedious, but we have done it before!

I've heard this from someone else - if it's a DM automation, some accounts have a setting where they cannot receive DMs from people they don't follow (I think), which would prevent the automation from working!

For the PDF - I'd send them a link to an email submission form. Then, once they fill out the form, your email service provider can be set up to automatically send the email containing their freebie! Yes Manychat works on paid ads! Steph tested this when she was doing ads and using reels we had posted with Manychat to run ads to. She recommends going into Ads Manager & setting that up (by selecting the post) instead of boosting, because then you also have control of WHO you are boosting it to!

It should be an immediate reply unless you add a time delay! Try to remove the footer in your settings options. If it's not available, it might be a paid feature!

I read about the new 24-hour rule, where only followers can send a message first, and then we can send them any kind of message/link. However, when it comes to commenting on a specific post, in this case, the follower did not send the message first; rather, the Manychat user sent the message. I'm not aware of a 24 hour rule! An IG user must comment your keyword on your post or DM your keyword to you directly in order to begin the manychat automation!

However, I am curious if there is a way to "follow up" or send a new message "blast" to the same group of people who previously opted in to an automation and received a certain link. Here's what I would do! When you send your initial link, have them "opt-in" to your list. On the back end, create a tag for that group. Then, you can send an email to that specific group!

Hello thank you so much for this tutorial! So i have encountered an Instagram account where I commented a word and they sent me the automation message, with a button to respond that I have followed them as instructed in the message in order to receive the recipe. For the sake of a test, I pressed it (without following), but it did not send me the recipe. When I followed and then press the button again, they sent out a new message with a link to the recipe. Is this also done through Manychat? Thank you so much!

Great questions! The automation will always trigger on its specific reel when it sees the keywords or phrases, so make sure they're pretty unique! As for targeting a specific group, we recommend doing that from your email list! Make a segment for your manychat opt-in form, and then you can email that segment in the future!

You can create a step-by-step automation that continues as long as the user is interacting via clicks/responses! If they do not respond for 24 hours, you cannot contact them again via MC.

Ok I set it up. So glad I did because I posted a video today and told ppl to comment to get a free posing tips guide and I have 200+ requests that keeps growing. I didn’t expect that many. 😮I would have been manually sending a dm all day. I have to do about 50 manually that occurred before I set up the automation.
