Nobody is perfect. Relationships are hard, But I've figured out that there's always a way to fix things when there's a problem. Five years back, my wife and I were on the brink of divorce because of issues in our marriage, but we found a way to fix them. It was hard, but we made it through.

I'm 42 and it's been almost 8 years since I've had a relationship, dated, or had sexual relations. The best thing I ever did was put the brakes on my promiscuous ways and to get right with the Lord. My obedience to God has saved me so much heartbreak, trauma, and drama. These gf/bf situationships are a worldly standard, a gray area, where marital benefits are expected without a real commitment. Never again. I discovered there was a lot of healing that needed to happen before I could even think about getting entangled with a man. Yes, sometimes I get a little lonely but would rather remain single for the rest of my days than to be in another toxic relationship. I was never married and the thought of being committed for life was really scary but God showed me His design and it's truly beautiful. I once was blind but now I see, all glory to God 🙏💕

Love hearing this. In Islam there’s no gf/bf relationships. We’re friends or husband and wife, no in between. Seems restrictive, but really it’s protection.

The growth during our times of physical separation, I moved out of state, have allowed us to grow as individuals. The love and connection between us is beautiful and so sacred ❤.

God told me yes about the guy but he told me to wait but I’m the problem I want to push play but holy spirit gave me instructions to wait, and even the guy I’m talking to said to me he isn’t ready but he does want to marry me and don’t want to cease talking to me. But I’m like naw let’s push play. God kept telling me he’s making me a patient and praying woman. And even confirmed it to my mom who is a seasoned woman, and a woman of God. For everyone saying “IF IT AINT THE RIGHT TIME THEN IT AINT THE RIGHT PERSON 💁🏼♀️” You’re basically saying you know better than God. Also, things aren’t instantaneous and maybe one of you needed to meet the other to be like “Okay, this is what I want and who I want, I need to work on myself a bit to prepare for him/her.”

Now that I’m in my 50s. I see dating so differently. Men my age and older are either newly divorced, half dead, depleted, trying to be 25, Mean and bitter…i can go on and on..I can take it or leave it. I really like being by myself…I hate that it took me hitting my 50s to truly appreciate who I am and the woman I have become. I love this space. No thirst here. I’m fully hydrated!! 😂😂😂😂

The Book of Ruth is one of my favorites. She made it known to Boaz that she was interested (she made sure to bathe and look good first 😉) , but she waited on his answer. Granted, Boaz was already good to her by indirectly providing for her, but he saw her faithfulness to The Lord so it wasn't hard for him to drip with love and become her husband. No dating. Just shacking up in the tent and bam.... married. 😅

Great video! The story of Ruth presenting herself and expressing interest in Boaz is a good example of a woman expressing her feelings. However, the story of God taking a rib from Adam and creating Eve and "brought HER unto the man" is an even better one!! That tells me, when God is involved is a done deal! The relationship will work! In addition the MAN (Adam) recognized his WIFE! How did he know that? Adam was asleep but he KNEW she was the one!! And they become one flesh! I'm paraphrasing (Genesis 2: 22-25). Side Note: I'm in no way a Bible scholar but I am a Believer and I do pray, read, study, listen to the Word etc. learning and growing daily and that example came to mind. Thank you for pointing out that there is no boyfriend/girlfriend relationships in the Bible. I never thought about that! Eliminating that in today's world would cut out so much drama, trauma, hurt and healing. Also, I got tickled when you were talking about the the singing in church. LOL. I've seen folks doing the most: hollering, crying, falling out on stage, being dramatic (basically acting and pretending) and won't even part their lips to speak to you so I pay them no attention. Sorry not sorry. Anyhoo, In the meanwhile, I'll continue to work on improving myself: getting closer to God, healing, hitting the gym, working on my purpose, etc.The waiting time will not be wasted!

These are questions to ask God: "Ask God this straightforward question is this man for me?" "How do I proceed?" "Is there anything that I need to resolve?" If you have found the one ask these questions: "If I feel that I've met the one should I express my feelings to him"? "Is this man where he needs to be spiritually?"

Let me relay my recent story. I recently met a man during Memorial Day weekend he had a death in the family a few days later. I responded with many texts to take as much time as you need and many prayers. We have not had a date since. We text every day we talk over the phone briefly and we believe God sent us to each other. This morning God told me to tell him about my most secret and sacred moments I have with him and which ones. Upon opening up my phone this morning God showed me this beautiful tree with Psalm 7 which he also wanted me to send. So I did. I believe there was a valid reason behind this request because God would never ask me to give my most personal and sacred moments I share with him otherwise ❤️. I truly believe he needed this for his spiritual health.

It's so interesting how you've made the point that eliminating boyfriend/girlfriend relationships would save people pain and trauma and actually make them *better* prepared for marriage. As a Muslim woman, I always get the question from non-Muslims about dating. How can we meet people and get married without dating, as we believe in Islam, God Almighty has prohibited dating and/or engaging in any kind of sexual relations before marriage. We as Muslims always knew this rule was for our own protection and inner peace. And I was pleasantly surprised to hear it from you, confirming this. Thank you. And I must say I've been following your content for a long time now, and feel most of the things you say truly resonate with my values as a Muslim. Thank you, Stephan, and appreciate all your sincere, honest and heartfelt advice about finding, nurturing, and protecting loving relationships!

I'm like you Stephan I don't go to church for the praise worship I go to learn the word of God, when we truly comprehend the word of God (make an effort we will not understand everything), seek first the kingdom of God and truly get to know God (OUR FATHER) there is no better feeling, he will add all else unto us and that includes joining together husband and wife, not for their sake but for his sake to accomplish his will and purpose.

It has led to many hilarious moments. The one I remember most is when I prayed that, and said right afterward something like, "She looks kind of old though." and I really felt like God was laughing and saying that I was no spring chicken myself. 😂

Found him but he brought so much pain and trauma and baggages to me. God even confirmed. I still question why God would want me to be with someone like him when he gave me so so much pain. Why isn’t he ready. I can only assume it’s because God had to show me to him to encourage him and to bring him back to God. This is the only way to bring him back to God and God saw He could use my life to encourage him. Still, it doesn’t change anything. The pain and trauma he gave and left me in. I became a different person because of what he gave me. So I left him for God to deal with because if God chose him for me He will need to work this all.

In our pursuit for preparing and seeking Yah's best for us, we must remember not to abandon our covenant with Him. Most of the times Yah's, no is because He knows that we aren't ready to receive is because Yah knows we may put His best before Him. We have to be and remain committed to Yah if/ when He release us to our Husband's and to be a wife and if he says, no. No doesn't mean denial. It just Yah's protection and most importantly keeping and strengthening our covenant with Him. Yah is a jealous God and He's Jealous over us too. His sons and daughters. Beautiful blessings to you always. Shalom.

He participated in prayer and worship the whole nine we got married last only for 7 years he switched up on me so fast I did not know where it was coming from. He cheated on me and he filed for a divorce do not think that just because that man is saying or doing all the right things in church that he is a man of God. (A thought that popped into my head, as Mr. Stephan briefly shared something about men and women and the Praise/Worship part at Church.) I think there needs to be an intense study on what true Worship means. If all Believers understood the two types of worship (personal/corporate); then there would not be such discomfort when it comes to Praise & Worship in our Church settings. True Worship is our reponse to the revelation of who God is. It does not have anything to do with song choices, or the way men and women enjoy the singing before the preached Word. Out of that response, there then are different forms of Worship. That is where singing, instruments, postures, praise, and etc. come into play. If one can stand and sing at a secular concert; then you should be able to participate in the corporate Worship experience with other Believers.

Very valuable points to ask God, and methods for prayer. Make or break you points best considered and applied than suffering the consequences of incorrect thoughts and actions. Your real life examples let me know I'm not alone, give helpful suggestions, and why doing them is important, and at times critical. One important point for me to remember is "God's timing is best." I thank God for sending me your way. What I've learned and continue to learn has drastically changed and improved my understanding of myself, of men, and how I relate to others. Thank you Stephan!

I watched a video w/ Lisa Bilyeu and I so much enjoyed your lecture about asking God and listen to your inner self. I also like what you told about lust being strong that it may be confused to love. Before I even watched that video, I already went through a Major Depressive Disorder, and I started to go through that when I asked my fling to simply visit me without us having sexed. Because I knew I loved him and what he was doing was to ask from me a lot of times, and I wanted to set boundaries just so he can understand that what I truly want - a real connection. But he stopped visiting me. He never called me every Wednesday like he usually did. So I am standing strong on my decision, and whether I may end up losing my sanity, I will never text him or call him and most specially, I won't ever apologize just because I want to be respected and my gesture of respect to him was misunderstood by him. He truly looked like a Hooker, only that he's a guy. But with his actions, he's similar to a stripper - coming to my house, we sexed, then before he would go, I would prepare him food and give him a little cash. The only difference is that I cooked for him with all my heart and I even gave him a massage while he was asleep so he can release all of those stress he may have. But I decided to see the situation as it truly is, I was hurt but I made my decision. Now, I'm heartbroken because I stay strong on my decision. I always pray to God and I told God that if that man is truly my man, He will change him to become the exact man who I really need in my life, but if not, I keep on asking God to remove all of my emotions from him and help me heal. So... Here I am... Watching some of videos to understand people in relationship and I saw your video. Thanks. ~J🌹

I think a driving for force people or at in my case I felt pressured to get married before age 40 because of the whole biological clock thing. I was frustrated because I felt God made it so women have limited time to have kids but let men be able to have kids until almost their dying day. At 42 I'm on the fence about having kids now but I'm not closed off to it.

True! my tongue has gotten me in trouble 😅😮Also true, no boyfriend & girlfriend thoughts, there is a romance time 3/6 months then marriage, not years of pseudo marriage! 😮not for me!

I agree asked God for the man for you a kingdom man not one on the outside of God family. Pray for the right one that you both can grow together in Christ Jesus.

Ruth and Boaz, now that is an interesting love story she was prepared to humble herself at his feet. Pride could so easily have killed a great love ❤

Thanks For A Fresh Perspective. I Always Seen, And Treated Relationships As Personal Choices,And This Makes It Easy For Setting Boundaries And Easily Move On When Necessary, Because It's MY Choice. But One Relationship That I Believed Was "GOD Send" I Suffered, And Struggled With Letting Go When Lines Where Crossed Because It Was My Godly Present🎁. And The Nonsense Became "Tests" That I Had To Pass. That Was My Longest (18mon), Most Toxic Situation-ship Ever. But🤷🤷🤷. But Thank You

This video was a direct answer to prayer in real time. I literally just came out of my prayer cave, asking God for the direction and clarity that you provided with your message. Thank you so much, Stephan. What is the best way to give back?

I totally agree with you Stephen. Asking God is very important. What will you do if you have been in 10 years relationship had a child got a house together and now I’m moving out of the house all because he thinks if two people love each other married is not important. It came to a place where I needed to ask God if this is for me let his will be done, if this is not for me God should take me out of it. Not I’m asking God to forgive me and have mercy on me because I have been doing things in my own well.

I know women who divorced their spouses because they did not think they were where they needed to be spiritually, rather than extending grace in allowing their husbands to grow. And we all have to remember that none of us have arrived but are constantly striving. Also, Stephan, consider the Renaissance Church of Christ in Atlanta, GA. I used to attend this congregation years ago but left because I moved to another state.

God gave me a dream of this guy who lives so far away from me and when we talked we had a connection and he just pulled away and ghosted me making me feel as if I did something wrong and I reacted so badly and blocked him but God gave me 2 more dreams about him and when we talked again he says he doesn't want anything with me so I'm leaving it there. But why would God show me one who hurts me even though he's the best man I spoke with in a long while but now I feel hurt 😢 I've been single for 7 yrs not wanting to go through anymore hurt but I told God if you God someone for me I'll wait on you and this is what comes to me whats going on lol

You know how they say "don't go looking for something" That's what the problem is ...and he saw something he ain't like- may I add doesn't communicate well or understand boundaries and how to set them... I'm not trying to down anyone method either.... I refuse to play in the mud. There are no steps being skipped. That's the choice he made... God already told me what to do about it. Leave em with their desires.
