You need to look at PER. Player efficiency rating. How does LA do when hes off the court compared to on. Most games he negatively affects lakers efficiency, they need a vet pg and have lonzo play 25 mins off the bench for first two seasons. Do this and he will be a great starter in 2019. Skills take time to develop and he just dont have it yet, he has the talent to be a rondo level pg though which is legit good.

Having played the game and being able to assess talent are two different things. Take Isiah Thomas as a coach and GM. As great as he was a player his ability to judge talent was atrocious and you will find probably a lot of former players now in executive positions who have misjudged players in the draft in respect of their ability to succeed in the NBA. And Lonzo Ball is one of those players where you can take easily opposite positions. You can argue he has great size and court vision for a PG, is young and will develop. Maybe. But you can equally argue that his shooting woes are a massive red flag and that in today's NBA a player with a crooked shot and historically bad shooting pct will not blossom into a a franchise player and saviour. Time will tell.

Lonzo was completely overrate. He needs to thank his dad for that. Lonzo cant carry a team on his own and needs 2 or 3 great players to help him, so he can just pass the ball to them. They could have gotten that in round 15 of the draft, they wasted this pick on his ass, should have let him go somewhere else. He is a bust, complete bust, people are just homers and cant get over it. Way things are going right now, Lakers are gonna get some more 1st round picks, lets see who they can blow those on, they probably gonna take the other Ball bothers.

@SK-qu4wo7 жыл бұрын
Kelvin Sudds That sort of barometer is only used for average talent, which Lonzo happens to be. So in that case you are right, give the kid some time to develop. BUUT Lonzo was picked #2 overall in the draft and coming into the NBA as the most hyped player since Lebron James. The dude at the top of this comment section is on point with what he is saying. The Lakers are not getting anything out of Lonzo that they couldn't get out of a 15th round draft pick. Magic squandered a highly coveted #2 draft pick and the Lakers will be ass for at least another decade because of it. Lonzo is a bust plain and simple.

SAS: "Just do your thing, Lonzo. Play your game. Don't listen to anybody else. Be you" Also SAS: "Be more passive. Be more aggressive. You know that everybody is looking at you" Make up your mind

Calm down people. He stuttered the first time and said "Lavonzo," which was a goof. But the other times he was try to say, "A Lonzo Ball." Like how some people will say, "X player isn't living up to being a high pick when there have been better players before like a Lebron James, or a Kobe, etc." Edit: trying, not try

Stephen A isn't asking why he isn't scoring much...he's asking Scottie why isn't he aggressive? You can be aggressive in other ways than scoring. Scottie and max need to answer the question.

I would take Pippen's opinion over SAS's in a heartbeat

Scottie Pippen's first season, at age 22 - 2 years older than Lonzo - 8 points a game, 3.8 boards, 2 assists, 0.175 from 3. Turned into a top 50 player ever. Give me a break on these ridiculous judgements on 19 and 20 year olds. Give Lonzo a few years, then see how he's doing. If he hasn't gotten better then go ahead and make the judgements.

I wonder when Stephen A is going to give Frank Ntilikina some love... listed a bunch of players who aren't as good as he is out of this draft... including Dennis Smith Jr and it drives me nuts.

Ok so I agree w/Scottie as for zo, but I noticed he took a silent shot at mike. This is when he says that a player should be concerned about helping to make the team better, not about making himself better publicly. - Facts, Rotten Apple Radio

@Stephen A.; People used to think 3's were the risky shot, and that the "Triangle Offense" was the best. The NBA changes, I hope for your sake it doesn't change and players like Lonzo Ball don't become the way to go. IE, have a ""passive player"" create plays much like a quarterback in football. How often do you see a quarterback score a touchdown? I do see Lonzo Ball throw full court passes etc...

Lavonzo, Alonzo, my dude, Pip is giving Lonzo all kinds of names. I would love to hear Pippen talking about the Ball family. You would need a calculator to keep up with the variations of Lavar, Lonzo, LiAngelo, LaMelo.
