Last night steph got thrown out and I’m starting to think that J Poole came back this season feeling himself after winning. I’m not excusing draymond but the fact that steph just lost his cool, tells me that Poole has possibly been doing things in practice and in games that are outside of the realm of the way the warriors have sustained success over the years. There is a recent interview that KG and Paul Pierce did where they say what can happen to younger players who win a championship

Dray saying Joker playing as an MVP as we are.acustomed to. Draymond on his podcast during last season said that when he was on TNT he pointed flaws in Jokers defense, later Jokic came up to him and said Thank you, bc of you on tv i took those words to get better on defense, and Dray said how he respects Joker for that a lot, after all that every season Dray is giving props to Jokic, on his pod, after playoff matchups and every seasons he is saying that Joker is a deserving MVP. I have so much respect for these 2 men so this podcast was a real treat. I appreciate the questions SAS asked Dray - man is one helluva journalist. Dray shouldn’t have to suffer forever for a mistake that shouldn’t have been leaked for the world to see. I wish more scrutiny was being pointed at the individual(s) or entity who deliberately released the tape. That didn’t have to happen and it was a very calculated move. Draymond Green is one of the brightest minds with the highest b-ball IQ in the game. I’m a fan, I stand with him and I’ll be cheering Dray on as the integral, driving force to his team that he is. I also wish like hell we could’ve kept GP2, Otto-Porter Jr & JTA. Losing GP2 hurt the most though and I hope we get him back next year 😬🤞🏼🙏

GP2 is an amazing player but risking the young core for him just wasn’t worth it, and paying him would have cost like 40 million in salary tax on a 16 mil contract. Regarding the Poole topic, Draymond says " when you push someone, you better have your hands up." True, but wasn't the reason he pushed you was because you walked up on him and chest bumped him and he pushed you to get you to backup? Poole didn't walk over to you. You instigated that. It's funny how your response in these situations change based on the person. When Tristan Thompson pushed that ball in your face during the playoffs, you didn't swing on him. Was that because Tristan is 6"9 260 vs Poole whose 6"4 190? Draymond Green, the situational bully. Hope it was worth it because all it served to do was f up the team's chemistry but hey, you had to do, what you had to do, right. Smh. 🙄

What a great interview..I'm so glad you gave Dray the opportunity to express himself, his feelings and deepest apologies for his actions..I wish you could get Jordan Poole on the show and maybe eventually get them both together to patch things up live on your podcast..but I understand how difficult that would be from Jordans perspective..it would be like asking Chris Rock to share a stage with Will Smith,... when a man gets sucker punched in the face publicly ..its hard to live that down..unless they get to square off one on one in a boxing match..and then they can shake hands after..but even in these cases it wouldn;t be fair or acceptabe because of the sizes differences and weight class between Dray 6'7" Jordan 6'4", and Wil 6'2" Chris 5'10"

I appreciate that Stephen A. Smith has secured this "hot take" of Draymond Green explaining his actions regarding Jordan Poole. I also appreciate the fact that Draymond doesn't want to veer to far into the nuts and bolts of what occured. Without knowing for sure, I don't believe that it was over a Contract, or any jealousies over Jordan Poole's role. I do belive that for his years with the Warriors, he has made himself to be the "Hall Monitor" for good or bad. These are grown men with thier own idea's of how to run thier lives and careers. I'm sure that his heart and intentions are in the right place, but in no workplace do you place your hands on another employee. I'm willing to bet a dollar against donuts that if the shoe was on the other foot and he got slugged/coldcocked/assulted he wouldn't be so docile and measured. From Saginaw {as he references} he would still be fighting if that happened to him. That video was leaked intentionally to help grease the skids to get him out of Golden State. Probably the Governors Group, the Coaching Staff and maybe even some of the Players have grown tired of his rhetoric and antics. So, what's wrong with the Warriors on the court? That punch that everyone saw is not going away. No matter if Jordan Poole "accepted" his apology, he or the other Warriors have not forgotten it and that is the elephant in the Locker Room!

It's interesting to note - that Draymond said punching Jordan Poole is the biggest screw-up in his life, over his Flagrant 1 call on LeBron that essentially lost the 2016 NBA Championship for the Warriors. Punching a Teammate was put over losing a NBA Championship. Let that sink in.

The bottom line is that a BULLY always chooses his victims carefully. The same way Will Smith slapped Chris Rock but would have never walked up on stage to slap a 50 Cent type dude. Do you think Draymond would have knocked out Steph and gotten away with it? Nah..because Steph is the franchise. So I don't want to hear "I was going thru something!" Because if a Ben Wallace type dude was standing there I don't care what you were "going thru" you would have never walked up on him...let alone punched him. Go watch the video of the Malice at the Palace. Ron Artest was all about being a bully until he had to square up with Ben Wallace and he backed away and laid on the scorers table. He wanted no part of Ben. Bullies know who they can and can't mess with.

No coincidence that they went to a commercial immediately after introducing the Poole mugging into the conversation. Upon return from the commercial break, instead of responding directly to the question, we have Green building himself up as this truth telling man of integrity…blah, blah, blah, blah, blah for the next minute or so instead of actually responding about the topic that was presented to him. As if the audience needed to be put thru his filter of self promotion before he started his spiel of shaping events to show him as this tragic victim of circumstance and Poole as someone that should have had his hands up.

@@ajhenderson370 Kobe and MJ were option 1 on their team. They would've been option 1 on any team they played with. Option 1, 2 and 3 on Warriors were the Splash Bros and KD. Draymond was lucky to be option 4. He is a role player that acts like he's option 1. Steve Kerr knew his role, Lamar Odom knew his role. Draymond plays his role, but he acts like he's more than that role. Warriors would've won without him, not the other way around.

@@jarodrodrigues7611 you didn’t even respond to my comment 😭 Draymond has never said he was the best player on that team or ever mentioned to be on Kobe’s or MJs level. However, he is a great leader and even better defender and an integral part of the team. The Warriors don’t win 4 rings without him.

Stephen A love ❤️ the podcast and love ❤️ everything that’s going on on this podcast. Big huge fan of you both and Draymond Green #23, wow it got just deeper way deeper than but I know Draymond Stories cause it was on ESPN channel network about how he went through a lot of things that went on as a childhood and yeah I can see and understand what he meant 💯 percent

I don't know what it's like to have a magnifying glass on my life like Draymond does, but I'm not sure I like his response to this whole thing. A lot of it seems ego driven. You gotta let that go brother. You can be two things at once.

I feel bad for Draymond, such a good friendship with Jordan and all lost in just a moment. I hope one day soon, they understand and there’s forgiveness and they go on to win some more battles together. 🤞🏻❤

@@d-rocontop I really can’t fathom how so many people are suckered by this obviously non-remorseful, no account loud mouth. To this day he is essentially blaming Poole for not having his hands up when he swung on him. How is that showing accountability? What is wrong with people? Has fandom blinded them completely?

I love Stephen A. Smith despite living far from the USA. In the 90s as a teenager my wish was to do for a living the sports journalist, exactly as he does. It was a long time ago. Best regards sir! For everything, especially for your new book!

Forgiveness. You don't gotta forget. You forgive then you grow as a man. I hope Poole grows as a man and does his thing in the NBA. Green made a mistake he knows the price is coming. At least he's owning it.
