I was there at that event! It was amazing seeing him in person and even though he says he has stage fright, you'd never be able to tell. He is an excellent speaker, intelligent and witty, and just as entertaining as one would expect him to be.

I owe Stephen King a lot. I couldn't read until I was 11. The stories teachers give you to learn with are most of the time boring, and my Mom figured that out so she gave me an ancient copy of Misery she had. I couldn't read it much but something about it made me realize I wanted to and the only way I could was to learn how to read. So I did. I was also a very scared paranoid kid for some reason but reading Stephen King somehow helped me manage my fears and deal with them in a way I could live with. More recently I did a marathon of all the Stephen King books I could get my hands on that I hadn't read yet to pass the time during quarantine. Without those books I would've gone crazy. Stephen King's films have some terrific performances and those performances inspired me to want to be an actor. I can't act right now for obvious reasons, but I will some day. P.S. My favourite character of all time is Roland Deschain, The Last Gunslinger of Gilead.

I have not been very fond of reading books I'm afraid and I prefer audiobook format and recently I have listened to 3 of your books on Audible! I listened to The Dead Zone, Salem's Lot, and Carrie! Compared to the movie adaptations, which I think were good, the books were much, much better and I really liked them a lot! I swear every time I listen to your books on Audible or whenever I watch the movie adaptations of your books, the song I always think of is Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones! Ever since I heard Gob's punk cover of Paint It Black in the end credits of the 2004 adaptation of Salem's Lot, I have always associated that song with your works!

My mom would have been terrified that, in the story, white man sleeps with.a black woman. She never got used to her step-son marrying a black woman, even though they've been together for 42 years.
