Back by popular demand, it's another installment of our step-by-step analysis of THE LONG WALK -- with your sports broadcaster Bobby Thompson (host of THE RUNNING MAN!).
If you love Stephen King's early works -- especially when he was writing under the pen name Richard Bachman -- then we think you'll love this series... a Hunger Games-like competition long before the Hunger Games was even imagined!
Oh, and have you heard the news? LIONSGATE has picked up the rights to film an adaptation of The Long Walk, which will apparently be directed by Francis Lawrence (the director of several Hunger Games' movies!)
Enjoy the journey... and, as always, thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing!

I certainly will do so now that I have heard your awesome rendition. I was thinking that maybe you were just reading the book as is and though King had come up with a fascinating way to write his book (well as Bachman). I was wondering how he would get into the character of the boys and was realizing that it would have to be whatever the boys sent in to the event via their entrance essays or would have to be that the announcer might from time to time have people who know the boys be in the booth with him also talking. That could have elevated drama potential too. But bravo to how you did it! The commercial breaks were hilarious and so realistic! I was driving to work listening on my phone so could not even see the images which I later reviewed watching it again at home. Great great work. Keep it up. I would think you would be onto a way to leapfrog off of their novels because the quality is so high. @@stephenkingbookclub1054

This is actually extremely good! I wish this series had more attention; it really draws into contrast the difference between the in-universe experience (that experienced by Garraty and the other walkers) vs the outside experience (everyone else). As observers, we don't see any of the personal talks. We get hints of Priscilla, of Zuck, but we don't see any of the deep conversations. We don't see Olson going "it still feels weird", talking about his legs. I really, really enjoy this and I wish I had a large audience so I could show it to a lot of people. The way you/the announcer sounds excited about the tickets-- about Zuck running?? it's so vivid and real.

Thanks so much... That's exactly what I'm going for --- a detached broadcaster style perspective to juxtapose that actual novel. I don't know if people unfamiliar with the book would be interested in this series, but I'm hoping fans of the novel will continue to get a kick out of this.

@@stephenkingbookclub1054 i JUST finished part five and i am HOOKED! harkness' death was done so well-- the almost satisfaction of the narrator... excellent. in an earlier episode, the walkin' dude poem juxtaposed with the deaths made me gasp out loud when davidson's number came up, even though i knew it was coming. i've subbed to the channel because of this series, this is AWESOME and i cannot wait for more. maybe one of my favorite series i've ever found online. your sponsor bits are SO good also. whenever this is finally done, it's going to be so excellent to binge at once. the long walk is my favorite stephen king novel by far. i feel like it just has him at his best: a gritty character study without any frivolousness. it makes me so happy to see it done justice here. :)
