Pennywise was not a man, but an unnamed monster only described as a spider from hell in the movie from the 80's. The newest version I have never watched..

One thing gets me. I don't think the Micmac people were of the Algonquin language groups where the legend of the wendigo came from. I might be wrong though.

Again, I can't tell you enough how much fun I am having with this channel. So impressed with the detail. As a Maine boy, Stephen King was everything... Derry is his stand-in for Bangor, of course (nice shot of his house, by the way)... The Jade of the Orient being the Oriental Jade (which I've been to, but not for a long long time). Love how you are weaving so many things together so cleverly. And the voice performances are excellent. I couldn't speak for Mr. King--- I've only ever met him the one time I told you about--- but I would like to think he would get a kick out of this series. After all, he's always been encouraging with independent adaptations of his work, what with the dollar films for his short stories (which I think has discontinued now, but was active for years). It's amazing how much King has mattered to my life growing up here, from "Christine" being the first "grown up" book I ever read, to seeing him all the time in bookstores and finally actually speaking to him, to almost being an extra in the "Langoliers" TV movie (alas, I couldn't film on the day, but a friend of mine is in it), to getting into huge arguments with literary snobs in college who were always putting him down... yeah, King casts a pretty big shadow.

Drawing a clown in his mash potatoes could be a weak IT reference. Also, when Willie was watching the dead mole going down the stormdrain, I was waiting for a Pennywise reference.

There were so many scary moments, I was obsessed with it as a kid. Barlow was terrifying, and the scene with the legend Geoffrey Lewis in the chair.

Stephen king bingo aka kingo is more safe Version of the Stephen king drinking game. It the same thing as the bingo but you take a shot if a king trope happens. Plus I wonder how does this compare to langoliers.

1:13 No its the guy from The Naked Gun. 🤩🤣🍿 Leslie Nielsen is awesome. Drowning is scary, but a swarm of bugs takes the cake. Spiders are my least favorite. If I had to pick, I'd say "Just drown me"

I was traumatized at a kid watching this. My parents loved watching it with me. So I did what any good parent would do when I had kids. Showed them this when they were little.

@@stephenkingbookclub1054 What are you jealous of? Did you get a KINGO? Do you wish you had an older friend named Brian that you worked with at Barnes & Noble who used to write for a local newspaper that can rip people to shreds on paper? He works for a lawyer doing technical research/ writing since he got the pink slip in his paycheck after the hostile takeover. The only real good news I got from Brian recently was that he finally passed the kidney stones. He was caring for his father who passed away from Alzheimer's recently. He gets sullen and is extremely moody. Sometimes he took days off because he was in a bad mood.

Not the most thrilling of stories....I was hoping Mary Worth was going to be a Library Policeman Slayer of some kind, maybe even working for the same or similar boss as Dixon....just seems like there were a lot of missed opportunities to people the plane with minor characters from the Kingverse...like if Morgan Sloat was the drunk business man or some other fairly obscure deep cut.

I very much hope there's more to this. I've been a fan of the story of IT since I first saw the 1990 telling, and later when I read the book. I know some of this lore, but not all of it, and the way you have presented this information in these videos just give it a different feel. Amazing work. As I said, hope to see more. Have a great one, and don't take any balloons!

There are several homages to the short story Jerusalem's Lot in the movie. One of them is the broken step on the basement stairs where the owner's brother broke his neck and became the undead.

Yes I did read the book. Like you I grew up in 70's and 80's and I was 9 when this movie came out. I really enjoyed it then until years later I read the book. After reading the book to me the movie didn't even come close to the book and I like the book version of Kurt Barlow much better than the movie. To me neither versions of the movies came close to the book. But I'm curious to see this new movie though it looks like a remake of the 79 version.

Yay, a new Kingo! I’ve already read it, very recently too, but hearing you read it with added reactions is a treat. Loved the plane ping sound.

If they did a remake of The Crate, Daniel Beer (who played as Randy from Creepshow 2) should play as Dexter Stanley and Paul Satterfield (who played Deke in Creepshow 2) as Henry, as both actors were in the Raft short story, can play them since they are older. Michelle Monaghan can play as Wilma, Rohan Campbell as Charlie. Stephen King can cameo as Mike The Janitor lol.
