I had a friend who lived about a block from Stephen’s dad’s house in Pass Christian, Mississippi. It was a very modest, unassuming baby boom house in a middle class neighborhood. They could see his home from their porch. It showed me a lot about Stephen’s upbringing. I visited there once.

You want the version he did on the Tonight show from around 2003/4-ish His mic or the PA cut out and he sang it with all the power his voice could muster...usually talkshows are pre recorded Crap....but they used this version...you'll be Happy if you can ever find it. I'm sorry, but he is one of the best singers in the world. I've never heard any recorded singer with such an ethereal quality that simultaneously carries a richness of strength rivaling Tom Jones or Otis Redding. Johnny's Garden is an example of such musical resplendence.
