The Amad Diallo situation is really weird, he's a young talent who had a good loan spell and when he plays looks relatively bright. However, he's not been given much of a chance despite nearly all our wingers performing so poor.... makes no sense.

Someone said Ten Hag shadow banned Diallo which cracked me up. He's done everything asked of him despite a big price tag for a young lad that would crush most players. On & off the pitch attitude wise he has it all. If I was his agent I'd be getting him a move.

@@d.b.cooper1and I wouldn’t blame him in the slightest. How we’ve handled his development is a joke, same with Pellistri even if talent wise they aren’t on the same level. Like what was the point in keeping him if despite the injuries and form you won’t give him a go. It’s not like he’s played before and had no impact or been poor he has a positive impact almost every single time and is the only winger actually looking to create.

The point is it’s wasn’t Van Gaal,or Jose,or Ole,or Ralf either! It’s been the dramatic decline in the club’s standards and the handing of power from manager to players,ETH wanted Kane and De Jong,but was given Casemiro and Hojlund,He didn’t buy them,the Club payed way too much for both of them,his first two signings were Martinez and Malacia who have had very unfortunate injuries,is he the right man,I’m not sure,but since Sir Alex and David Gill departed EVERYTHING the club stood for has been allowed to slip,that’s on the Glazer’s,hopefully INEOS will try and start to at least put the foundations in for a properly run football team,they’ve already made some decent appointments in the back rooms now they need stop the ridiculous contracts and wages that have been handed out,that have hampered every single manager since SAF.

Exactly mate. Nobody can argue that if Maguire and McTominay had left and we’d used the money on upgrades, we wouldn’t be in a much stronger position. It’s easy to criticise the style of play, but we have to allow for the fact that he’s forced to use players that we know can’t play to his style and who he actively tried to get rid of. Antony has been a poor transfer but if we had a Greenwood or a Sancho to fall back on he could be dropped for a decent amount of time to allow him to find his feet. Casemiro has been dog shit this season but nobody was predicting that after his performance last season, trouble is with our shambles of a squad and the injuries he has to play regardless of form. Pep cycles through players until he finds the ones that work so we can’t suddenly pretend Tommy Tickles would walk in win the league with this squad.

I agree, everyone at the club needs to be better/doing better but the manager has to get something out of the players. Repeating the same bad ideas with no risks or fresh thoughts and sticking with Antony and always playing the wrong midfield and not trying something different in a tough injury situation in defense. We all know how good AWB is at tackling, would he make more sense than Case at CB? Amass on the left, Dalot on the right and hope Case can do better in his regular position? Why isn't ETH managing? I don't know the answer but that's not my job, as maanger ETH should be trying to find an answer and he simply isn't. 😂 Life as a Utd fan is tough at the moment

Put casemiro in the inter side and he will look like the best DM in the world. Many united fans thought ibra was finished cause he had a bad six months, he then went on to play another 5 years at a very high level, same with Ashley young whos still going at 39, alexis sanchez performed well after leaving us and got 18 goals last season, nemanja matic left us and did excellent for roma, chris smalling too. Man utd is the problem, not casemiro. We are doing well to even have a player of his calibre, what we need to do is get some proper midfielders alongside him, and a coach who plays a system which doesnt isolate him and leave him with his weaknesses exposed. Hes still world class.

100% agree. It’s bloody annoying. Any player in this world would struggle under this United team. ETH doesn’t even fix the problem. And yet fans wanna keep him. Ok you keep him and then you gonna have to sack half way through next season… then the new manager has to wait next summer to buy his players. It’s the best time to get a new manager. Simple as that.

It’s pointless even talking about United online when 90% of our fanbase is represented by 12yr olds and plastic kids that have never seen us win anything, have no reference point for what a Man Utd side looks like. You just get swarmed and told “you don’t know ball”, but for what it’s worth, from someone who’s been supporting Man Utd for over 30years; aside from Lisandro, Mainoo, and maybe Garnacho, none of this squad is fit to wear the shirt. None of them, not Bruno, not Rashford, none of them, they should be first out the door, don’t bring me your no-context stats, don’t care for them, I care for what I see, for what I know as a fan of this club since 1993, from my own personal standards within my own personality, and with what I’ve grown to know winners to look and feel like. Problem is, the club has grew accustomed to mediocrity over the last ten years, signed bad player after bad player, now you lot can’t even recognise a proper player, that’s why you cling to Bruno, you’re just relieved he’s not Fred, or McTom, or Fellaini. The bar is so low, how’s about this fanbase remember what the standards are. You don’t even need to look at Man Utd from back in the day, you can look at the top players now, look how they carry themselves, look how they lead, inspire, the Jude’s, De Bruyne’s, Mbappe’s. Watch winning sides, watch their top players, if you think the Rashford’s and Bruno’s are remotely on the same level, pack it in, just pack up, leave football alone.

Solid defensively and in the middle. 2 recognised strikers feeding from pacey tricky wingers. Partnerships all over the pitch. FB+W D+M M+S GK+D The hardest thing about watching Liverpools success is they did it our way! Strong defensively, with unrelenting attacks filled with pace and clinical strikes from any 1 of a number of players. All done as a team!! As a complete unit! Defending and attacking together as one. We are a long long way away from that. Next season doesn't bode well if we don't have a radical squad change in the summer. Getting rid of some may even be more important than who we replace them with in the long term.

The problem all season has been that ten Hag is a brilliant coach if he has the time to set the players up with structured training regimes. We saw it last season. Poor start, but when all those folders and plans started to work, and we got fairly lucky with injuries, we quickly turned it round and played some good football. We had no money in January when the inuries did start to compound and we struggled as the team went into unplanned rotation, but the core stayed strong and we got a good finish, FA Cup final not withstanding. This season has been the exact opposite, since before the start of the season we have been carrying long term injuries to key players, and most of the new players we brought in were injured before the first game of the season. I don't think the "Man With A Plan" has had the chance to implement the detailed team and individual training he is known for, due to the fact we don't know who will be fit till the morning of the game. None of that is an excuse by the way. What it has done is reveal that Ten Hag is not good enough at fixing things that are broken over the short term. i.e. Week to week. The question IS... do the board look at the circumstances surrounding the season we've had and show some understanding? Decide that if Ten Hag has better support in terms of medical and recruitment, and some better structure put in place to feed young players into the first team and provide more squad depth, he can do the job and give him his third year. Or do they start from scratch with a new young manager who is more up to speed with their way of running elite sporting organisations. Then again, I would not be surprised if there is a clause in his contract that says they can sack him if they fail to get a European berth for next season. If we keep sacking the manager and keeping the team, there is every chance that this will just keep happening.The players are behind the manager when its going well, and sack it off and turn of them when shit gets harder... maybe what the owners need to do is look at the past three managers, realise that there is a problem with player power and let the current manager sack the players who need to go, and we spend a year or two replacing those players with fit, reliable players who are not in it for the pay cheque.. Even IF that means losing some of our so called "Best" players

We haven't been "keeping same the team". He's had £400m in 2 seasons. He had a 3 year deal. He knew he had to get things moving from the start. That's why he was backed with signings he chose. It hasn't worked out. I'm not saying he has no excuses but come on, we're in 8th. We are now worse than Rangnick's season. Truly appalling.

@@mundolioknows6447 By "keeping the same team" I mean from match to match week to week, not the same squad. The reason it clicked last year was because we had a solid core of players. This year we have fielded at least 19 back four combinations. I had stopped counting at 18 a while ago, but the Evans Casemiro combo was another new one

@mundolioknows6447 15 күн бұрын
@@andrewtomlinson5237 it's actually 31 combinations in defence, as ten hag insists on reminding everyone what the latest number is after every bad result. For me, the number of injuries points to a very poorly managed squad. I'm not putting all the blame on ten hag but he should have tackled this issue early on. On top of that, with the insane injuries and the players looking exhausted since the very start of the season, he shouldn't have changed the tactics. He wants to play a type of football that requires huge amounts of sprinting and high energy for the entire match. I believe the players haven't given up and kept trying to play his way, but there is only one game plan. The opposition knew how to beat from early in the season and he refuses to adapt the tactics to fit the players available - no matter how many shots we face, games we lose or injuries we get. That's truly poor management.
@andrewtomlinson5237

@@mundolioknows6447 Like I said before, we brought in what three? four? players at the start of the season who were carrying injuries. Madness. For me the most dangerous part of his actual plan is the lack of height. It's the same with Howson whenever he talks about "Great defenders" tehy are all about the ball playing skills, and not enough "Can he get his head on the ball from a corner?" fundamentals. We played our "best" team against Forest back at the start of the season and they killed us at set pieces. They scored from one of OUR corners for fucks sake... I still think with a proper operation around him instead of the car crash the Glazers have been operating he has a chance to do well. It remains to be seen if INEOS are prepared to give him the three years we keep saying every new manager should get, before then demanding to sack them after 2.

It was only hojlund that we brought in that was injured. Plus mainoo and Amad if you want to count them too because they didn't play for the first team last season. It's not just the injuries though. The ones that play don't look fit. That's why we burn out by the 20th minute in every game. The tactics are completely wrong. They have been all season. Right from the first match, every game has followed the same pattern, we come flying out of the blocks for 20 mins then descend into chaos; we see the same empty midfield, full backs way out of position, wingers isolated, can't put 3 passes together, concede 20 shots, concede straight after scoring etc. That is not down to players being lazy. That is mismanagement. And that's why I don't think we should give him another year. He's in his final year anyway, who's going to want to sign for a manager that's on thin ice in his last year?

Rashford, AWB , Antony and Dalot should not be on the wings of any EPL team. They’re not disciplined enough. Dalot and AWB especially are not on the level to start games at the club. They’re possibly squad players. The core of balls we lose , and the spacing that arises in our play comes from these players but the manager does not want to change this . Weird . He has control but the favouritism and the lack of not wanting to play to Hojlund’s strength and use wingers that protect us offensively and defensively is why the likes of Casemiro look crap and the rest of the squad look mentally lapsed .

I was always Ole in and now i can't help but think you reap what you sow. Ole never lacked belief in himself, he was a man shocked that players he worked with for 2 years threw him under the bus and was devastated by it. The club should have backed him and rid the players then. Here we are 3 years later and the same thing again, with the same players.... When is this fan base and club gonna learn. Edit: Funny how ETH is now getting the exact same criticism too. No tactics, boys club, bad signings. Maybe, just maybe it's not the 5 managers we've had over the last decade... Not counting the 3 caretakers smh.

I think what worries me, is not only are Utd stagnating or even in decline, but that there are so many clubs out there that are on the rise. Who foresaw villa being solidly top 4, we can see Newcastle, Tottenham and clubs like Palace with real ambition. Chelsea aren’t going to have a season like this year again next year, so where does that leave Utd? I fear that there’s a scenario where we could see Wrexham in the Premier League before we win anything again!

I'd disagree with this pessimism, things can drastically look better with just 2 major changes. Yes the rest will then take time. The 2 changes would be improvement in Carrington and health staff, and second would be hiring of cheaper defenders but more in number i.e. squad depth, not your 60 mil defenders or defensive midfielders, but multiple young 30-40 mil players in defence, an assured defence in squad will make this squad look way way better than the one with past their prime old big names, just get some workhorses in, and then kick out most big salaries, and see how disciplined the squad will look, right now the squad has no second or even first fit option available that can provide in defensive role other than Dalot, going back on a pragmatic setups to hide physical deficiency of players is not moving forward.

Problem is, this season, we've had so many players playing poorly, but literally no one in reserve with any kind of experience to drop them for that would be safe bets to come in and give you a 5/10 (besides Amad who should be in for Antony anyway). He needs to start debuting a few new youth players when the current regulars underperform (again) to show that regardless of status, playing out of position or lack of depth, bad performances are not accepted.

Completely disagree with your point about Paris. We were SO lucky that game. We went into it without a prayer. I remember screaming at the screen for Ole to take Bailly off as he was playing right back and looked seriously ropey. It was a fantastic performance, but we only won because Gianluigi Buffon spilled the ball (how often does that happen...) right at Lukaku's feet, and then we won a penalty, which was not a penalty, never in a million years a penalty. One of the most ridiculously pathetic decisions I've ever seen to give handball there. I don't think it's fair to say 'Ole did it with McTominay, Gomes & Tchong'. or 'that team was worse on paper than this team' when the only reason why that team is considered 'better' is pure luck.

We have been in decline since the Glazers takeover, it accelerated when Sir Alex and David Gill left their roles and ever since it has been a relentless downward spiral with Ed Woodward at the helm. Losing 4:0 to Palace has been a consequence of the club's poor management, poor recruitment and lack of vision over many years. So now we are in the sad position where the manager has run out of ideas and many of the players just don't want to be at the club and the Fans are just numb and dreading the next game and things getting even worse. Sadly Stephen is bang on when he says that from where we now are it will be another 5 years before we could legitimately challenge for the PL title. I'm in my 70s (with a heart condition that will not improve), will I live long enough to see the Club that I have supported all my life win another major trophy? I live in hope, but I have little faith that I will

The problem OGS had was that the young hungry exciting squad he was building was disrupted by the imposition of a couple of ageing stars. Having finished 2nd the previous season and doing well in Europe he should have been given at least a full season to sort out the issues that had arisen. United will continue to disappoint as long as the board keeps sacking the manager. However bad it is the evidence shows that the problem is not the manager.

Ole and Jose knew the team couldn't play pretty football. So when they played "bad" effective football, like giving up on being in possession and play on the counter, it brought some success. The trouble is, most the fanbase were never going to accept that. Jose eventually went too far with the negativity and lost the the team. Ole started to listen to the fans and tried to play "pretty", and well stuff like Watford happened.

For years weve had a board that hasnt been able to convince our managers targets that we were the club to come to, but now weve a new board with actual football background to give it a go. The issue now, is that from a prospective incomings POV, theres no Europe, theres question marks over Ten Hag, theres questions over the players, our season has been shambolic and by and large we're an ugly picture. BUT, (and i do like the man) if you sack Ten Hag and get a manager of top quality in, its a slight change but it means alot, then it looks like a new owner and a new board that wont accept mediocrity, plans for a new stadium, a squad clearout and a fresh start weve been promised for years. I do think sacking Ten Hag and getting a big name in does make us seem like a more serious establishment thats beginning to make moves, and not one thats still unsure of its next step in the rebuild
