The modern set is not part of the range but gives an idea of how slow Rocket can be operated…

Going 30 miles an hour in 1830 must have frightened quite a few people back when no other vehicle was able to reach that speed. I’d like to see a replica of the rebuilt version someday, but I don’t know if it will ever happen.

Program Zorgo That’s a replica of Rocket in its original condition. The rebuilt condition looks kinda like the original in London.

A station announcement from the BBC's late 1970's radio comedy show, "I'm sorry I'll read that again!!", from the radio play, "Murder on the Cleethorpes Express", featuring John Cleese, Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke, Graeme Garden, Tony Hatch & Jan Hunt. "Here is a station announcement. The train now arriving at Platform 1 is Stephenson's Rocket. British Rail apologises for the late arrival of this train to any surviving passengers". The show in on U-Tube now.

I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love this video showing an N scale model of the Stephenson's Rocket created by Robert Stephenson for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway in 1829 to win the legendary Rain Hill Trials in October of that year!

Where can I get the chassis for this model? I see that you have the body shell for the engine and tender on your Shapeways store, and I would really love to have one for a Thomas & Friends Stephen custom

The chassis is built-in with just the wheels needed; these can be easily sourced as spares. Motorisation, as it is so small, is via a coach (also available) with two motor chassis options. Where do you get the wheels for the locomotive?

In N Gauge the trailing wheels are standard Farish wagon wheels while the drivers are easily-sourced Dapol spares. All details can be found on the sales page for each model.

The motor is hidden in a First Class coach (or one of the special motorised trucks I have developed) - gives the perfect illusion!

The one in yellow - green was the rebuild and the preserved engine today is unpainted metal.
