Sebastian Bach was a classically trained singer which gave him his range and technical ability. When he started with skid row he created that sharp rock edge to his voice
@canadiandrummer4 ай бұрын
Not really classically trained. His dad wanted him to go to Juilliard, but Baz refused the offer and they settled taking private singing lessons for a while in Toronto. I rehearsed in the room next to his band Kidd Wikkid. Heard him several times a week rehearsing. He was just always a great singer.

Yes, you've got to do "Wasted Time" to show her just how amazing Sebastian's vocals can get, but you also really need to show her "Slave to the Grind" to see just how diverse they were too! Can't wait to see the look on her face when that song kicks in after listening to these other Skid Row tracks. I saw Skid Row open for Bon Jovi on the Jersey Syndicate Tour. At the time, I hadn't heard anything by Skid Row. Sebastian came bursting onto the stage and let that voice go. Within 30 seconds I knew I was going to the record store the next day. My sister went with me. I bought the album, she bought the poster.

The best band from those years! Sebastian and those soaring vocals! He transforms these songs. I heard Youth Gone Wild and saw the video on MTV and I was hooked. The power of his voice, it's incredible! Skid Row opened for Bon Jovi back then and I was outside the arena with my friend. I had on a Skid Row t shirt and we were not that far from a trailer for who we thought were maybe band members. Who walked out of that trailer as we stood there? None other than Sebastian. We ran over, no one else had noticed him yet. And man, was he tall. And completely gorgeous. Leather pants, t shirt, bracelets up both arms. As we stood there talking to him, telling him how excited we were for the concert, he put his arms around both of us. Just standing there, no rock star attitude. Just smiling, happy with fans. Then other fans saw him and started running towards us. Asking for autographs and everything. My friend and I just stayed there, by his side. He was so cool and down to earth. Telling jokes and everything. I'll never forget it. Definitely watch Wasted Time. In a Darkened Room is beautiful. Monkey Business, that cool opening verse. I love his vocals on Into Another, not a Skid Row song.

I talked about her joining the band on our live show and I played the clips from their gigs. I love Halestorm and Lzzy but her voice sounds painful when she sings with them. It's not her register and it not good at all. That kind of vocal strain won't last and as I have said on the show, if she keeps singing with them her voice will not hold out and like many other singers that sing outside their range in that exact fashion, permanently damage their vocal chords.

Sebastian Bach’s voice is awesome! A great singer! My daughter said: Daddy why is his lower lip quivering? I said honey that’s called: Vibrato and all the great singers have it! I live in Santa Monica California (LA County) Skid Row is a heartbreaking 💔 place and what makes it worse is a mile down the road are mansions! If you listen to Poison do a song called Give Me Something To Believe In Brett Michaels points out this very fact! I’m encouraged by seeing some celebrities feeding the homeless there! I remember working Thanksgiving and Christmas there shoulder to shoulder with some of the cast of Days of Our Lives! I worked beside Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans) and her twin sister Andrea Hall (Hattie Adams, Samantha Evans). God Bless the people who make their mark helping people on Skid Row!

"i Remember You" is my favorite song from Skid Row. It brings back so many memories of my own story that the song tells so well. I'm so glad the younger generations are being introduced to the greatness of these bands and most appreciate it. Sebastian was and IS a master of his craft. Bon Jovi is another one and getting into the late 80s-early 90s you have GnR with songs like Sweet Child of Mine, November Rain, Don't Cry, Welcome to the Jungle and Patience.... anything Aerosmith (Steven Tyler's highs are legendary), Queensryche with Silent Lucidity and Jet City Woman.... Temple of the Dog wityh Hunger Strike and a cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares to You" that hits you hard (RIP Chris Cornell) :(... Anyway... I was born in 77 so I grew up on some of the greatest music to ever be recorded through the 80s and 90s. don't get me wrong.. I love the stuff from the 60s-70s as well as bands like Linkin Park (RIP Chester Bennington), Evanescence (Amy Lee is amazing), Nightwish (best live show you will ever see if you love metal), Metallica up through the Black album, and many more.... but nothing hits quite like those tunes we grew up on. And of you want some vocals to introduce Steph to, Chester Bennington from Linkin Park will grab you by the soul. Mike Shinoda just released the song "Lost" that they recorded for Meteora 20 years ago and it hit me in the gut hearing Chester's voice again in a "new to us" song after he's been gone several years.

Sebastian Bach had the best pipes in Hard Rock imo. I was 16 in 1989 and played the hell out of their self-titled debut album on cassette. Please react to more Skid Row. My favorite songs of theirs are Wasted Time, 18 and Life, I Remember You, Sweet Little Sister, and Youth Gone Wild (in that order).
