As much as I love General Steppenwolf, Zod wins. DCEU General Zod was a beast. Although he went against a much weaker and inexperienced Superman, Zod adapted at an impossible rate and was giving Superman a hard time. He was bred to be a warrior, a hero to his people. Only reason he allowed himself to be defeated by Superman was because he had no reason to live. Imagine a fully adapted General Zod who wouldn't hold back against Steppenwolf. The fight would be legendary and won't be an easy win but I see the Kryptonian General beating the Apokolips General.

I’m going with Zod. He’s basically Superman with actual fighting skill and the strategic mindset of a general. He’s also not afraid to kill which means (in my opinion) he’s gonna come at Steppenwolf with A LOT more prejudice than Clark did, in order to get rid of the threat ASAP. That’s just my opinion tho.

YES DanCo is DEAD WRONG HERE. Both of them lost (fatally) to Superman but Zod put up a damned good fight and did some damage and lost to an exhausted and beaten up Superman while Superman beat Steppenwolf almost effortlessly. If 2 fighters never faced each other but faced a 3rd person (like my Mike Tyson analogy above) then if they both lose to this 3rd person but one of them puts up a way better fight that is the one who will probably win.

Yes Superman was weakened during the doomsday fight but even if he was at full power the gap between his strength and wonder woman's wouldn't be to large. Wonder woman said she had never seen a being as strong as Steppenwolf, this is after she fought doomsday indicating she believes Steppenwolf is stronger than doomsday and doomsday is stronger than Zod therefore Steppenwolf>doomsday>Zod It's also stated that the doomsday that Superman and Diana fought was a fake doomsday Steppenwolf on the other hand survived a fight with the real doomsday and the real doomsday is much stronger than the fake one. With all this in mind it's pretty clear that Steppenwolf is much stronger than Zod.

That was probably him holding back as well, we all know Kal regularly pulls his punches and limits his speed in an attempt to limit collateral damage. Plus don't forget every member of the league dog piling on Clark after his revival, they couldn't move him whatsoever. He could no effort all of them in a matter of moments if he wanted to. Zod could at least fight him somewhat on his level. Zod is still heavily outmatched by supes due to Clark living under a yellow sun his entire life, but he's much closer Clark than Diana. Zod also wouldn't hold back against Steppenwulf. He's also likely a better technical fighter than Kal is due to spending his entire life in the military while Clark doesn't really have any formal combat training.

The only thing that allowed Clark to defeat Zod and his crew was the fact that they couldn't handle the sensory overload of having enhanced hearing a vision. They couldn't even fly. If they'd been able to learn to properly utilize their abilities, Kal wouldn't have been able to stop them. That goes double for Steppenwulf. He's too slow, earthbound, and his axe won't even cut through cyborg more than an inch or two. That was him cutting him with an overhand chop. No Steppenwulf is not more powerful than Zod, or Doomsday. Diana's comment was just shitty writing.

The Superman Zod fought was wayyyyyyyyyy weaker, slower, and less tough and experienced than the 1 Steps got curbstomped by. And yes Superman destroyed Steppenwolf but Steppenwolf just kept getting right back up. He was determined. Zod got defeated by a weak Superman. Steppenwolf didn't get defeated by a god level superman and he had the determination to get right back up. Steppenwolf would toss Zod around like nothing.

The only thing you discounted is that Zod is a soldier and has no problem killing. Instead of slicing off a horn he would just heat vision through Steppenwolf's head. So even if Superman is at a higher power level Zod is just far more willing to be lethal and far less likely to punch his way out.

I don’t know Zod too much but heres what we gatta remember. We gatta use Zack Snyders version since he also helped with Zod. Zod is clearly faster and has stronger punches, Stepphanwolf is clearly much more durable and has great fighting experiences and even held out against an amped up Superman. My idea is this. Hes tougher and just like with Wonder Woman, He’ll talk trash and most likely will catch him off guard. Remember, You don’t gatta fight in the speed of light if You react fast enough or plan ahead to catch them off guard.

Let's be honest here Zod is kind of a mess when it came to battles, for all that he's touted as Krypton's greatest General, a man genetically bred and raised to be a warrior he still lost to a genetically bred SCIENTIST in Jor-El and an inexperienced farmboy in Clark. Now Clark I can understand since he has been charged with solar energy for decades and is more powerful but Jor-El? Let's not even mention that Zod was emotionally compromised when he fought Clark the second time and was still adapting to his powers. With that said, I think Steppenwolf can beat Zod here, the reason? Zod is weaker than MoS while Steppenwolf scales to Doomsday who can trounce Superman. It was already established on this very channel that steppenwolf would beat Doomsday in a fight so Zod doesn't have much of an advantage here. Steppenwolf is stronger, he may not have the same travel speed but his reaction speed can compensate and their combat abilities would even out considering they are both experienced warriors.

I think the biggest thing that makes this fight confusing is that they should have gave better examples for how Superman is stronger than someone with better fighting skills like Zod. I personally know Superman and Zod gets their powers from solar rays and many believe Superman absorbed more solar rays from living on earth longer! The power boost probably and from that giving him the win in Man of Steel. Then the mother box super charging him in the new Justice League movie too makes sense for why he is wildly strong. MOS sups was stronger than zod DOOMSDAY ( zod) is stronger than BVS sups, BVS sups comparable to WW in strength and speed, And Steppenwolf made WW look like a child, He is as fast or even faster than diana in combat so he is sure faster than zod stronger and even more durable with armour! He took punches from resurrected sups and never knocked out , he was incapacitated tho!

Zod's heat vision isn't as strong as black suit superman's heat vision. That wouldn't be able to do anything to Steps. He would need to come down to do something and Steppenwolf is far more superior when it comes to ground combat. Also, yes Zod is very fast, but that is because he can fly. In terms of combat speed, Steppenwolf is a lot faster.
