Is it that hard to tell us the price of the whole setup of this Anker SOLIX?

My brother in law does land development, does all the upfront paperwork and permits, then turns it over to a builder. He just built a small number of townhomes, being in California he needs to include solar. He beefed up the solar and the battery packs that service the units. He calculated that if they lost power and had no sun for week, the system, should keep the units going for the week. His thought is that in the Bay Area, they rarely go without sun for more than 3 days in a row. Plus the utility company now takes weeks or more to attach new homes to the grid, especially on small builds.

in Georgia (on "Georgia Power") we only earn just over 8 cents per kwh as power-to-grid (same as it costs from 11pm-7am) yet from June through the end of September electricity costs almost 30 cents/kwh, so a battery really helps keep the energy you capture from the sun

Hire a kid to take the garden hose and sprinkler up on the roof. He will do it for a cookie and an attaboy 😊 Before coming down, have him clean the needles out the gutters. My 5,000 dollar solar setup offsets the cost of my Tesla model 3. It's also my backup power when the grid goes down.
@Yanquetino5 ай бұрын
Nice, Kim! Are you ever going to install solar on your home? My array paid for itself years ago, and it's now paying back my 2 Powerwalls. They'll also be paid off in the next couple of months, I'm sure. Even better, we've put a few more kWh into our grid than we've take out of it. I've found that an occasional rain storm is all that's needed to keep our panels clean -but, of course, we don't have the "southern pollen" that turns everything green in your area!

I have my batteries set to charge to 100% starting at 11pm since the cost at night is the same as the cost I earn selling back to the grid. This way I always have a full battery in case of a grid failure (which happens at least once a month in Georgia).

Remember that is if the electric company buys it back from you at the same rate as it charges you. In Jacksonville, Florida the electric company buys the energy back from you at such a low rate it makes it hard to make any money, you definitely need a good battery backup in place.
@MissingNumb5 ай бұрын
If you adapt your lifestyle you can still drop your bill low enough to justify purchase even if your getting reduced rate buyback. Consume during the day, cut back after sundown, sticking to an efficient routine I've gotten my bill as low as $20-40 with $.40kwh rates. I've also tested the opposite side of the coin with an " above average" routine (multiple ac run over night), and that lands us anywhere from $120-190. Most people no solar here are paying at least $400+ for that consumption.

Do people not understand how this works ? Apparently not . Anything that requires professional installation will never have a shown price . It can’t . To many things change the price even with the same storage capacity . Price are different from region to region . Cost of labor is also hugely different from region to region . You could buy the exact same storage as your own neighbor and get a different quote depending on if someone has to upgrade there electrical panel , wiring , etc . I have no idea how these work but even i can figure this out . Come on already . We all claim we are adults

How well insulated is his home, and is there a heat pump/s installed to deal with hot water and or air conditioning? If this is in Georgia, in that climate, air to air heat pumps make a great apples to apples replacement for traditional air conditioning units for a fraction of the running costs due to their higher COP meaning they use less energy than traditional units. Have the family opted for LED light bulbs? The savings on electricity is significant; the UK's electricity usage dropped by about ⅓-½ due to people swapping out their old light bulbs for LED and they also last a gazillion times longer. Only asking as I was so surprised at his comments about household electricity consumption going up instead of down or remaining more or less the same. Most people who get solar, batteries, EV's and other eco tech tend to become very energy consumption/efficiency conscious/aware, often to the point of nerdy geekness... 🤓 🤓 🤓 😅 Can't quite understand why he'd bothered to get the panels professionally cleaned in the first place. Given the relatively easy access, he could (easily) do it himself using one of those extendable brushes with a hose attachment hooked up to a tap. It's fairly quick and easy to use and can be used at one's own convenience.

I just got 71.5 kwh batteries for $16,885 delivered. Powerpro. 390watt brand new panels $112 apiece delivered. 18k inverter $3556 delivered. Right now is the time to go solar. Lots of overstock reductions going on Right Now. And those prices are without the 30% tax rebate. I installed 2" of insulation and 8000ft of pex in my driveway. To melt snow in wisconsin. Was going to use solar hydronic panels. But couldn't find drain back panels for under $900 apiece. So just going to use 24 of the 390watt photovoltaic panels hooked up to 2 electric hot water heaters. With solar pumps. About $4000. Way less than the hydronic panels. Needed 10 of those. Will never shovel snow again. And other than initial investment won't cost anything to heat my driveway.
