Thank you so much. I could not understand what stereo projection is until I saw your video. The rete in a astrolabe first drew my attention to the lines of altitude and azimuth that lead me to the projection used to construct them. I came across the use of stereonet which gave me some inkling of how it is done. But your video brought me to the roots of our device making every directions and planes of our heavenly bodies in a projection we can handle. Very well explained indeed.

Sir, where does the formula "distance of a pole from the center" is used?

You can use the formula to find the angle from vertical of any direction represented by a pole in your projection.
