I really rate how Maresca doesn’t mess about. The media have been doing there best to wind our fans up. As Maresca said on the inside… the club is not a mess. He’s working with 22 players. Yea there is 15 players training away but that’s the same at every club. 6-10 players train away. It’s not new. This manager knows what he wants and it’s a good look. I see him doing well at Chelsea. It’s on and popping

My main problem with Chelsea and the coach in this whole thing is how late in the transfer window he was told he wasn’t in his plans, he was told last Friday which is exactly 2 weeks before the window closes ( that’s bad form giving him such a short time to find a new club ) we didn’t like it when Courtuis ( sorry I can’t spell his name but you know who I’m talking about ) done pretty much the same thing to us and we had to rush out for a replacement and ended up with Kepa and the rest is history. Professional football is a seriously competitive sport like all professional sports and it’s a team game and results game and there is no room for sentimentality. Working class people on minimum wages get treated like this by their employers ( Sterling isn’t stuck for money so this isn’t going to drive him into poverty ) but I do think it would have been more respectful for the new coach to have told him this as soon as he took over. Sterling definitely hasn’t been worth anything like 325 grand a week so it’s no real surprise they want him out, especially with their new wage structure
@afern_052 ай бұрын
Now there can be no more excuses that the manager is a "Yes Man" and that all the team selection decisions are not being handled by him. Maresca is showing that HE is in control of his team. The SD's can do what they want with transfers but Enzo's personality is strong. I love it! Telling Chilly and Sterling the honest truth regarding his plans is the hallmark of a good manager. Don't waste the players' times.

Lol, the news media asking me to feel bad about how Raheem Sterling being shown the exit door is too much. He's played 59 times for Chelsea and scored 14 goals. Chelsea have already spent like 85M for those 14 goals (50 transfer fee, 17M salary per season). They don't want to pay another 50M to see out his contract because he's "professional"? Let him go to Arsenal on a free if he doesn't want to leave London.

I like Maresca, some gonna say it’s “brutal” but professional sports isnt kindergarten (like Conte and Mourinho), he’s been honest with the players and given them a chance to find minutes elsewhere. He has trained with a squad of 21 and made clear to the rest they should be looking for moves permanently or on loan. Gives me a little more confidence that he has a plan. I’m actually looking forward to this season, we have some wonderful players (on paper), I just hope he can deliver consistency, and gradual improvement throughout the season (Poch was chaos, couldn’t see a method or style), 4th place finish isn’t hyperbole.

This whole situation with sterling as actually highlighted what people have been saying about Chelsea. There is no coherent plan for the team. The coach and ownership only decide now, two weeks at the end of the transfer window to sell sterling and only after buying Felix. Not at the beginning of the window to give yourself time to try sell a player that has a very small market to sell too. And the reason given is because sterling doesn't fit the profile of winger Maresca wants. Fair enough, but Maresca would know this at the beginning of the window. Seeing as sterling has played the same way for the last 10 years and Maresca himself worked with sterling at man city. So out of all the players, sterling should be a known quantity to the manager. Now we have less then two weeks to try solve this mess.
