My initial thoughts after unboxing and just about to set everything up. I've discovered how it works and now I am ready to get busy using it.

I bought th Sterling H224 about two years ago after watching this video. It's very informative and to the point. I still have them (started off buying one used first to see if I can get it to work with my iPad, which it did. Then I bought a new one from GC for my laptop setup). Love them!!! Thanks Keithron!!!

@@KeithronPowell Awe man that sucks! I'm thankful that both of mine are holding up well. The one that I bought used, I gig with it at least twice a week...sometimes more without any issues. I hope that Sterling makes something similar at the same price point.

Just bought this interface a couple weeks ago. Thus far I really like it. I am new to audio interfaces and DAWs but I hooked this up and started using the DAW as a beginner, I had fun with it and really liked the sound I got from it. I am excited to see what I can do with this unit.

I just got the sterling this weekend. I have a question! I plugged in my headphones in the headphones jack and I noticed sound was only coming out in the left ear. I thought it was because I had mono on and not stereo. When I was pulling out the headphones from the jack I noticed that half way out both left and right of my headphones started to work. Question is, is that the way sterling works? I have to put the headphones into the headphone jacks halfway? That seems odd to me.

I’ve never heard of a volume drop when using the H224. Have you taken it back and traded for a new one? I spoke with an employee at GC and he tried it and loved it. And like me switched from the Focuseite. I think it may be a bad unit. Also? Check your cable. When I first got mine I used the cable that came with it and found it to have an issue. I had another lying around and it worked fine.

can you use both sets of monitors at the same time with the big knob?
@KeithronPowell
@KeithronPowell 2 жыл бұрын
I reread your comment… no, it’s one at a time. Not sure you’d want to. The purpose is to see what a song sounds like in different monitors. My Mackie monitors are not tuned the same as the Presonus. The Presonus are a higher quality. They are my mains. The Mackie have a different tone but still a good one. Plus I have a subwoofer on them. I get a completely different experience. That lets me know what my mix and mastering sounds like.

I explained this in the video. It’s not designed to do that. Channel 1 and 2 are your main outs… 3/4 are separate sends… you can have a separate mix going to the person singing on your studio that doesn’t affect the main mix. I do this all the time. The singer may only want to hear certain parts of the track or want the volume turned up loud in their headphones. 3/4 allow you to give the person in the booth a separate mix.

@@SeventhDynasty you have to set it up and send it from your DAW. On the channel you’ll see 1-2 on on the next send/bus open 3-4… from there you can turn up the volume to the moniyors
