I frequently get asked questions about our overlanding and camping set-up and equipment. Anything from the vehicle, a Mahindra Scorpio S10 4x4, to the tent setup, a Front Runner Featherlite RTT, to packing, storage, electrics, refrigeration etc. This video should answer most of those questions.

Your vehicle looks like it is very capable of traversing the trips that you take. I liked your setup, and you seem ready to tackle the trips. Enjoy!

Very interesting - we don't have Mahindra here, but I run your same tires BFG A/T on my Ford F-150 truck here in California!

Hi Steve, is your drawer system removable, in case you want to use your vehicle for other things? Overall, how much did your overlanding gear cost you? Ball Park figure.

Hi Clive. Thanks for watching. The draw system was designed to be removed easily by undoing two bolts. However, it has become more complex since I installed the electrical system. I have just accepted that it is now a permanent fixture. I guess we have spent about R60k to R80k on the gear. Thanks again.

Can you please give me more detail about the suspension upgrade. We also load our Scorpio SUV on the roof and I think a suspension upgrade will be a good investment.

Hi there. Thanks for watching my video. I have Firestone Air Helper Springs to assist with the weight. They are essentially an air bag which is installed inside the rear springs (SUV). You can then inflate them with a normal air compressor depending on the weight that you have at any given time. Here is the website with more detail assc.co.za/recreational-vehicles Please note that there are two different types - one that goes inside the springs on an SUV and the other that sits above the leaf springs on a bakkie. Hope this helps.

@@SteveNuns You don't perhaps have the model / part number for the air helpers that you installed?
@SteveNuns2 жыл бұрын
@@kampforum4044 on my invoice, the stock code is listed as AIR-001. That is probably not helpful, though. I recommend contacting them - they will tell you what you need.

Ps. The back seat weight is 35kgs...just thinking out loud

Thanks for that info, Morne. We do use the back seat around town. So not practical to remove. But a very good thought.
