This would've been way way louder if the DSP was setup correctly. With how we are running a JL amp as a 12 channel DSP we forgot to reverse the polarity on every other channel of the bass outputs. What that equates to is the back 12 subs moving one way then the middle 12 moving the other way and then the front 12 moving the same as the back.... Basically 12 6.5s in a box way way to big. If we would've noticed that we missed it in the software it would've done well into the low 160s

Cool build. Gately drivers look just as sexy as his enclosures. That being said, barely getting a 150 dB score with that many amps, pushing that many drivers, in a tank like that, is disappointing to say the least...

There are several factors that I can think of that really limited that score. #1 - I don't think he gave them close to full power. #2 - The subs had a really small x-max. They only moved one or two inches full excursion. I bet the coil length in those 6.5's isn't anywhere close to a respectable 18". #3 - the build was built for 15's to begin with. However, I have to say, I was surprised with the score as well initially. I bet he has no problem scoring a 165 when fully finished though.

His understanding is correct. Db is on a logarithmic scale so a 20db difference is 100x more.

It was built for 9 15's, the 6.5's were a temporary thing. It now has the 15's. I hope to get a new video of it next month with the intended setup. I agree though, the 6.5's didn't make proper use the of the available air space. Thanks for the feedback!
