Actually funny story w S Gunn + tuning. Homies and I went to his show @ The Echo a few years ago and his Jaguar's high e was just like, a wee bit flat. Not a big deal but my friend was out of his mind and yelled out "HEY STEVE ARE YOU JUST GONNA LET THAT SHIT GO? HE'S JUST GONNA LET THAT SHIT GO!" blah blah blah and Steve made the adjustment on the fly-- then shakes our hands after the song before the next one. Absolute gold. Steve.... the legend. Writes the songs, genuine modern day troubadour...and then we, the trolls. Hey it takes a village to keep an offset in tune. See you (yo i'll be in the back) in LA

I wholeheartedly agree with you about not keeping your snark tuner on your headstock when performing. The first 10 years I played guitar I didn't even own a tuner. I would tune to an album. Or a song.

I'd be more concerned if I'm in tune than what my guitar looks like with a tuner clipped to the headstock...

i have a black tuner flipped backwards, so all you can see is a little tiny piece if you stand in the audience. Still sacrilege??

It’s hard to tune at a gig without one. Can’t excuse yourself and head out back where it’s quiet. But, for ear development, loose the snark. I’m trying to loose the crutch too.

Use a D’Addario NS micro tuner instead of the snark. Problem solved. 🤷♂️

Me too. It stays. I don’t care who says what….

Yes !! I always thought that performing with the tuner on is disrespectful to the audience, like not caring for your look on the stage. Thanks !!

Miming to backing tracks and auto tune is disrespectful to the audience . A tuner? I prefer they play in tune . If a clip on tuner makes a person clutch their pearls… well, it’s probably the same type of person who would enjoy an auto tune / 75 percent backing track show..

Steve's not a pedal-phile... hahaha... me either. AND, I couldn't agree more about keeping your Snark off guitar during set. Thank you!

Blows my mind seeing someone with a beautifully crafted guitar that cost thousand$ but has a cheap plastic gizmo dangling from the headstock like a booger hanging out of their nose.

Never play live with a tuner clipped to your guitar. There should be a law against it.

Yes - keeping a clip-on tuner attached while performing would be a pet peeve of mine as well - I notice it right away all the time - looks amateur. Clip it on and off the guitar only as needed.

Being in tune at a gig is amateurish? 🤔

That's WHAT pedal tuners are for!

@@DMSProduktions What about the guy playing a flat top at a bluegrass gig? Probably doesn't own a pedal board.

@@mattrogers1946 True, that makes more sense of course!
