during this whole curry story line in his HOF career ... people tend to forget nellie who was the warriors head coach at the time wanted the warriors to draft curry too and played a big role in it ... hell there were rumors the warriors were going to trade curry to the suns for amare at the time right after the warriors drafted curry in 2009 with the #7 pick which would've set the warriors up with a veteran "big 3" of ellis, amare, and sjax but nellie wanted no part in that trade according to reports because he loved curry coming out of college and was shocked he was still available with the #7 pick in 2009 nellie has to be one of the most underrated basketball minds, especially offensively, in history despite not winning an NBA title as a head coach as the talent he saw from players that not many thought much of is astounding go back to Run TMC in the late 1980s and early 1990s where he drafted richmond and hardaway drafted sprewell late in the 1st round who became a multiple time all star and one of the better two way guards for a good part of his prime ... not to mention drafting big man, something many don't give him much credit for, but he identified the likes of hill and gatling in back to back years in the draft in the1st round in 1990 and 1991 whom became all stars later on in their careers after they left the warriors course nellie was also ahead of his time by playing small ball and using the advantages of a smaller lineup could have who were more prolific on offense without a big man clogging up the lane and slowing the pace of the game though his issue was not coaching or caring enough about defense to make it work at a championship level but to be fair there were some huge blunders in his career as head coach & GM too like trading richmond for owens in 1991 because he thought the warriors needed more size after losing to the lakers in the playoffs and then the big blunder which torpedoed the warriors franchise and a dark cloud was around the franchise for a dozen years which was not getting along with webber after his rookie season in 1993/94 after he had won ROY and the warriors won 50+ games ... then trading him to washington which tore apart and fractured a potential championship roster potentially in the makings if the warriors kept both spreewell and webber for the second half of the 1990s and even into the early 2000s considering the great things both spreewell and webber did with other teams later in their careers with the knicks and kings in the late 1990s-early 2000s another big mistake was trading richardson for wright on draft night in 2007 right after the "we believe" warriors team made their unimaginable cinderella run a few months early in the playoffs that year beating the mavs as the #8 seed and taking the jazz to 6 in the WCSF but even look at nellie's time with the mavericks as he traded for both dirk on 1998 draft night and nash who was a backup his first two years with the suns whom became an 2x all star in 4 season with the mavericks before he re-signed with the suns in 2005 and became a two time NBA MVP and a HOF if you look at the mavs the previous decade before nellie became the head coach in 1998 they were one of the worst NBA franchises having made the playoffs only twice in 10 years with only 1 winning record ... and had 7 seasons of 30 wins or less ... 3 seasons with 20 wins or less so looking back even though nellie cost the warriors two potential great teams, first by trading richmond and then webber in the 1990s during a span of 4 years... he made up for it and then some by setting the table for this current warriors dynasty by drafting curry in 2009 which has led to 4 NBA titles all this talk about kerr, lacob, riley, myers, and even jackson as prominent non players who helped turn the warriors franchise around ... i believe nellie had just as big of a role considering he was the main man in the warriors org at that time in 2009 that wanted to draft curry while also decided not to do the rash short term decision and trade curry early on in his career when if you had polled most warriors fans at that time i'd guess they would've wanted amare and okay'ed a curry trade in 2009 or 2010

Hoopvision is also great but he doesn’t make videos much anymore and mainly does NCAA. You remind me a lot of Jack Han who is basically you but in the hockey world I think my favorite thing about your philosophy is how much you dunk on old head coaches who never learn anything and just repeat the same flawed BS forever lol. It’s not exclusive to basketball

Kerr reminds us that people respond better when spoken to respectfully. That's correct and that's what he does as a coach. But then he claims that every once in a while you just blow up and that's OK. That's false. He does blow up and that's not OK. If it's not OK generally, it's not OK once. I understand we all lose control, but let's not endorse it as part of the process.

Sounds like you’ve never coached. I agree with Coach Kerr on that one. There are times when examples need to be made. Players actually respect that more as it then highlights the calm nature that someone like Coach Kerr usually communicates with. Every interview with players who are asked about Steve Kerr are normally very positive and they talk about how it gets their attention during the times in which he does go off. So I’ll take their word on it…

@@bballbreakdown This isn't just a question of the Warriors or Kerr. It's about coaching, teaching, parenting. It simply does not improve learning if the teacher seems upset in any way. Kerr seems 98% calm and positive, it's the 2% that is problematic.

Steve, please encourage Loon and Dray to shoot more 3s or SHOOT period. These none-shooters are killing the offense. Defenses don’t respect them (rightly) and poor Steph, Klay and even Wiggs get all the heat. Let’s do better this year. Better shot selection (Klay), take care of the ball (Steph, Dray), Have all 5 guys shoot accurately enough to keep the defense honest and play DEFENSE!🙏🤗✌🏿🙌🙌

Coach Nick, you’re pushing your agenda of following the shot vs staring at the rim. He answered the question and it didn’t fit your narrative. Just gotta move on. For the record, the time that you look at the ball if you follow the shot is so close to the point of release that it might actually alter the shot. It’s no different than having a straight follow through vs letting your arm drift as you release the ball. Guarantee that for most people, it makes a difference.
