This was a brilliant signing for the Warriors. If the Warriors are going to make a run at a title in the next few years, I can't think of anyone better to lead them. In my opinion Mark Jackson is the type of coach you bring in to develop young players and create a mature, winning attitude in the locker room. He did both brilliantly. Steve Kerr is the type of coach you bring in to win championships, he has been everywhere and done everything in the league. He has been a part of a true dynasty, and knows what a team needs to win a championship.

This is an interview that presents itself as an amazing learning opportunity. 1. The MC and the media were asking challenging and deep questions. Kudos to them, especially in consideration of the quality of the public discourse that we have today. 2. Bob, the GM, sincerely shared the search process and his managerial philosophy for success - thou shall surround yourself with people who have both talent and character. He demonstrated his wisdom, logic, communication abilities, and problem-solving skills. 3. Steve Kerr is hands-down one of the best communicators I've seen and a driven competitor combined with humility. The combination of confidence and humility is rare and is a key to not only establish a selfless culture but also bring in talented staffs. Steve is a true leader, and the fact that he "clicked" with the Warriors on their "first sight" substantiated Joe's statement that the GSW's ownership and front office is "light years ahead." As a side note, the character blend of the Warriors ownership, management, and coaching is amazing. P.S. sorry for using the word "amazing" again... My vocabulary is quite scarce, just like the insightfulness of mainstream economics. I wish I could have seen this interview earlier. Bob and Steve both understand the dialectism and the complexity of people, businesses, and organizations. I hope one day I get to meet Bob and Steve.

I always come back to this video when I get a promotion at work or just feel like I need a leadership refresher. Both Bob and Kerr are exceptional leaders and give a masterclass in answering media. Sadly based on this video we have 2 more years of this dynasty.

Steve Kerr: "My view is not next year we gonna win 52 games, or we gonna get to the second round. My view is what we gonna do next decade.. " And they won 67 games next season, and championship that year. It's truly remarkable.

you know what sucks though is kerr failed to win a title at the university of arizona as a player and as the gm of the suns and he got to the final four with both teams ...you can tell he really wanted to win in arizona cause they gave him his first real opportunity and thats where he lives...he came so close and bet it bothers him....he loves arizona and for him it would have been more special to win it there than any of his 6 rings...
@HiddenWen8 жыл бұрын
razkable I think you're right that it would've meant a lot, but I think Kerr's life though having lots of big downs has had plenty of ups to make up for it. Though that recent loss to Cleveland is going to sting for a while.

Good hire for stability and high-quality coaching and relationships. Much better fit than Jackson, who seemed combative and volatile at times, despite having a great relationship with players. Kerr will build those relationships, too, based on his personality and committal to creating a winning atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the next few years as a Warriors fan (hopefully with a roster including the splash bros locked into long-term deals)

Joel Swisher I honestly did! Excellent communication skills, years of experience as player winning 5 rings,management broadcaster and schooled by the best coaches in history. Honest good guy but has a competitive firyness when called upon. Team that up with a talented roster..championship materiel.
@jswishdaman9 жыл бұрын
MrYoumitube This team was definitely on the rise, and was going to be one of the top teams in the West. Most of the talk was my Spurs, Mavs, Clippers, Thunder, and even the Rockets. But he is an awesome coach and these Warriors are gonna be scary good the next several seasons.
@razkable8 жыл бұрын
they got bogut back which in 2014 they didnt have him which is why they lost in the first round...the team was on a up swing regardless cause curry was entering his prime and so was klay and green improved...they got healthy...most teams in 2015 werent...thats why they won....aka bosh in miami kd in okc and kyrie and love in cleveland and conley and gasol in memphis....and the entire rockets team...sometimes luck is needed.... the thunder missed the playoffs cause kd was out...who would have thought the clippers would knock off the spurs at the buzzer of a game 7 and win a road game 6 in san antonio lol...and that they would lose a 3-1 lead vs an injured rockets squad....the clippers might have been able to beat the dubs...also the kyrie injury changed the finals....no kevin love all postseason also hurt the cavs...it wasnt about coaching more so luck....also iggy just played great in games 4-6 of the finals..sometimes its about players just stepping up when the chance presents it self vs a fatigued cavs team that was playing 6 guys...

@bchen97210 жыл бұрын
Omg... Everyone steve will be a good coach. He is why he has played under the two of the greatest coaches in nba history pop and phil. Let me ask what has mark done? I like mark but the biggest problem was not making lee a bench player. They probs would've been 4-5 seed if they started curry, klay, iggy, green/harrison, and bogut. Not to mention kerr has had a lot of time to just analyze basketball from a gm position and as a sports broadcaster. And kerr isn't a dictator. He is a nice laid back type of person. He'll admit when he is wrong. So I can't see why he would lose the lockeroom. Typically guys who lose the respect of players are hardasses who make players feel like they live in cuba.

@13WildGoose10 жыл бұрын
Well, technically, he could. There's been worse coaches. Mark Jackson was a very average, maybe even below average offensive coach. But he was an above average defensive coach. There's at least 10 coaches actively in the league that are worse. But yeah, Kerr, will hopefully be better. His assistants will make or break him.

LOL at Mark Jackson saying this team is a championship team after he got fired. This team needs another star to pair up with Curry. David Lee has got to go, he's the weakest link on the team.
@MrYoumitube9 жыл бұрын
Lucas Busch Sorry without Bogut you can kiss any playoff aspirations goodbye no matter how dominant Splash bros are. But a healthy Bogut is key along with himself & forwards being aggressive to take away to much dependence on Steph & Klay to score.

***** Well look what happened.
@youngcnyce10 жыл бұрын
The warriors are not yet a championship team on the west. They need a couple more pieces. Mark Jackson was better for the job they just got beat by the better team. Plus the team really cared for & played for Mark. The players played for Mark to keep his job. How do you think that actually settled with them. Steve has rings but was basically just a bench role player.
@abprepboy3310 жыл бұрын
if they play a qualiuty offense, they can play with any team int he league. If they rely on isiolation all day- they dont have the pieces to do this one on one.
@abprepboy3310 жыл бұрын
The team didnt play hard for mark. Yes, they worked hard the last few games of the playoffs, but one of the biggest problems was a lack of consistent effort through out the regular season. There were atleast a half dozen home games that should have been free ones- where the players just didnt show up at all. LOL did they pick and choose when they wanted to play hard? There were atleast 5-10 games that could have been won this year - and they didnt lose them because a lack of talent.- they lost them just because the other team wanted it a lot more.

Its a new era of players turn coach with only player experience. I wont be too quick to judge since each year the management has made controversial moves every year that only made them better.

BigB0ss00 THANK YOU!! none of the casual fans understand this.
@leequiruz438110 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree with you on MJ being a really bad offensive coach. Steve Kerr is definitely a huge upgrade for us. I was just bringing up the irony behind Bob's quote. Management has made significant changes to the roster that has brought us to the playoffs and with Kerr as HC, we have a big three that will ultimately get along and can possibly make dubs into contenders. Now we just need Kerr to develop into a good HC and develop chemistry with the players.
@OutNAbout41510 жыл бұрын
BigB0ss00 thank you.....my friend and I been talkin about this for so long thay jackson cant coach.....i don't know how many game winners we need when we could of just won it straight up
@PathOfDistrAction10 жыл бұрын
You gotta get rid of things that won't lead you nowhere in the long run to win. It's dumb to say that since Kerr doesn't have coaching experience I know, but he's won championships and has been coached by the greatest coaches in the NBA. I'll take my chances on Kerr over MJ any day, at least Kerr sounds like he has a plan instead of just preaching and saying "I have confidence in my guys"

***** Once they start winning? The Warriors fired Mark Jackson to hire Steve Kerr was a lateral move. I thought they were gonna go after somebody with playoff experience. I wouldve even perferred a Lionel Hollins. I wonder why he's not as hot as Kerr? The Grizzles were in the Western Conference finals last year
@letstalksportsnation514410 жыл бұрын
Marcus B. Means what when it comes to being an NBA Head coach? Brian Shaw is cut from the Phil Cloth as well, doesnt mean that he is Phil. Does Kerr deserves a shot? Yeah. But not on our clock, when we are trying to win a championship. 50 wins is NOT good enough
@binary10 жыл бұрын
Thank god you are not in charge. Mark Jackson was freaking terrible and Lionel Hollins is not a progressive coach.
@synerglst10 жыл бұрын
Letstalksportsnation How is it a lateral move? Mark Jackson has no offensive system. His offense ranked 12th with these talents on the roster. That's pretty pathetic since the team has plenty of good passers and shooters and the only offense that Mark goes for are mismatches and isos. They are ranked #3 in terms of not moving the ball. This is like the anti-Spurs offense. The team needs a top 5 offense to go along with their top 5 defense to have a good chance of winning the championship. Mark was not the guy to move forward.

I think karma is gonna come back and bite the warriors organization. They really screwed mark jackson. The guy came off back to back playoff runs, won 50+ games this year and lost to a loaded clippers team without Andrew bogut in a hard fought seven game series. Mark jackson is a fantastic coach. Yes, he needs to improve, especially offensively but he's a really good coach and his players laid it all out for him because they loved him. That's half the battle in being a great coach, gaining the respect of your players and having them play their hearts out for you. Mark jackson did that.
