Awesome! He really had great control over the guitar : great rhythm and intertwined rhythm based leads - it sounds like 2 guitars up on the stage. He really was the whole package Rock Star - such a shame he passed when he did , far before he ever should have Rest In Peace, Steve - you are greatly missed

@@martino5457 Yep. Saw him at the Half Moon in Putney two or three times and once at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond when I was living in the UK. In Richmond there was a student band on first and they were OK, but several of their fans stayed to see Marriott and you could see from their faces that their minds were blown by the raw talent and energy.

Only a handful of true iconic rock n roll voices shined & Steve Marriott's was one of those most recognisable along with guys like Paul Rodgers Gregg Allman. We all miss Steve's vicious attack on rock n roll. I was lucky to have seen Humble Pie in the early 70s a few times when Peter Frampton was still in the band. . They made the 70s a blast..

Paul Rodgers, Roger Plant, Roger Daltrey, Gregg Allman all great frontmen but Steve Marriott was something else, the bloke had that thing about him that made him stand out from every one else he would have been one of the biggest frontmen of all if he had lived. RIP STEVE MARRIOTT GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. 🙏✌️😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Always the class talented soul blues feel delivery. my story of 20 years or so back now was cycling with a pal of mine to make a pilgrimage to where Steve unfortunately died in his burnt out cottage. As we approached his beautiful village, rabbits running about everywhere, then this big sign it said ARKESDON BEST KEPT SMALL VILLAGE. r.i.p. mate.

My big brother and I were just rolling into Daytona Beach when Fool For A Pretty Face came over the radio shortly after the On To Victory album was released. What a great song and a perfect intro for watching those babes in bikinis.

He had a drink/ drug problem also had a bad temper and would dress up as a wrestler as his aler ego a guy destined to not be around long in this life

I haven’t read any of the biographical works - yet, but I would suspect his attitude was in response to the way he was treated because of his size - he wasn’t a big guy at all , physically. The shit that people like Don Arden (Ozzy Osbourne’s Father In Law) did to him I’m sure leveled up his temper and resolve not to be fucked with like that again - at any costs. And the record co.’s fucked over Humble Pie in the latter years by not offering any support or marketing, and I know that pissed him off very much . He was a gem of a performer/singer/writer/player - gone way too soon (as we all know)

OMG, Purchased the Album in the day, with the British RAF, Spitfire, airplane on the cover. Saw Humble Pie Revision at Western Michigan University doing this song. Someone threw a beer bottle on the stage, and Steve, at 5'4", said he was going to come down and "Kick their Bloody Arse" . He was serious
